Anchor Bar — Restaurant in Schertz

I just placed my first Uber Eats order and decided to order from Anchor Bar not far from our house. We placed our order for an American and a Beef on a Weck. Because we both worked 12 hours today, we were pretty hungry and ordered priority service. We got our food and my Beef on a Weck has no AuJus. Since I ordered it with no Horseradish, I just had had dry brisket on a bun. My wife ordered the American. The description on Anchor Bar's own website states the following:

8oz brisket/chuck burger topped with American cheese, lettuce, and caramelized onion on our brioche bun

What showed up had a meat patty with cheese and cole-slaw. Notice the carrots and cabbage. There was something in the cole-slaw that made it spicy. My wife couldn't eat it, but I like spicy so I ate most of it. I passed on the dry meat chunks. Needless to say, I contacted Anchor Bar. I first spoke to an employee and tried to explain our order was messed up. She said she would get the manager. Next, the manager answered the call and she explained that she doesn't manage the Uber menu when I told her there was cole-slaw on The American Burger that arrived. She said that indeed cole-slaw comes on that burger. When I tried to tell her again what the menu says, she blamed Uber and wouldn't listen about the menu I was referring to is their site and not Uber's. She didn't apologize and seemed to want to argue about Uber's menu. That's when my wife got involved and the negotiation went down hill fast. A manager should be responsible for what goes out of their restaurant and this manager was not happy and wanted a fight. My wife, Cassandra, obliged and spent the rest of the evening hungry and fuming. I know this restaurant just moved to a new, larger location and might need to hire someone with some managing skills to avoid communication breakdowns and fix the issues when they arise instead of...

Absolutely love this place, the food is yummy, always seem to get the same nice waitress (we always give her $10) love the videos and decor, but this time, my husband was getting a Doordash order. 04/23/2024 We went to eat there and found Christy (our awesome waitress) Thanks for the great service and extra queso and sweet tea. Now this server KNOWS her stuff, knows customer service, knew what I needed before asking: extra queso, ice tea refills to go box, and actual understanding of how to treat people that LOVE Anchor Bar! She was very attentive, very friendly and we agreed on customer service things together! Gotta say this lady and her helper (a man) BOTH deserve a raise! The man gave us the food, was very polite &friendly too, and he decided the fries were not looking up to par, and made us fresh hot ones! Everything was fresh, hot, delicious and your servers always delight me! Especially these two. I hope the owner sees this and appreciates what wonderful service we received today from these two. We visited Saturday and sat outside so our kids could enjoy the playground. The table next to us was empty, but the table had leftover items on it from the last guests. No big deal, until the wind picked up and was blowing the trash all over the patio and playground. Keep in mind, we had been seated about 15 minutes already, and the restaurant was not busy at all. I picked up the trash from the ground and took it inside to alert the hostess of the issue. One of the items that I had picked up was an empty to go box that I had put the other trash inside of. There were FOUR girls at the hostess stand that all just stared while I spoke and never said a word to me. One of them finally took the to go box from my hand after I stared at her until she took it. I went back outside to my table without any of them saying a single word to me. The trash situation wasn't serious enough that I felt that I needed a manager to handle it, but the hostesses were very unprofessional.

I do have to add that our food was absolutely delicious - our chicken wings were very crispy and the sauces & rubs were delicious. The pizza was a little soggy in the middle, but it tasted so good that we didn't even mind! Our server was great- she checked on us often and...
