Uptown Tavern — Restaurant in Schuylkill Haven

This is an absolute disaster of a place to eat . I ordered my wife (from their online menus listing ) a Hamburger combo that came with lettuce tomatoes and cheese , I did a pick up order . When I got home after spending 68.00 for 2 burgers with fries , 2 cheesecakes which advertise as home made ( not deff store bought with nasty whip cream topping ) I come home to open my 68.00 order to see a burger , with cheese , no lettuce , no tomatoes , and the amount of fries my 3 year old could eat in 1 min . My wife called to complain to be told his in store menu they don’t put the lettuce and tomatoe on that burger anymore , my wife asked for a refund because he was being very rude about it . I asked for a full refund because what was advertised was deff not what we got and was denied to bring the food back for a full refund he would only refund one burger . The burgers were dry to the point I had to take a drink between bites . I even left him a 10 tip before leaving after picking up the order . He’s a scumbag and stay away unless you’re just looking for a drunk quick...

It has a lot of potential, but it has a long way to go. The atmosphere feels like an old dive bar in an old bank. It's dingy and dark inside. It could use a good cleaning, it smells like old grease. There is furniture and other unused items stuck in corners. The furniture in use is mostly long tables and questionable chairs. It's like a fire hall, but not as clean or bright. It appears that the owners have set up a living area up by the bar. My group was served by the owner who was wearing what looked like swim trunks and a tank top. He was friendly and the service was good. We ordered burgers which came in a timely fashion and everyone mostly enjoyed the food. The beer selection is the usual dive bar stuff, don't expect craft beers or a hearty Guinness on tap. There was only two other people in the bar with us on a Saturday night. I don't know if that's typical, but there was no social life to be had. Finally, I paid with a credit card. You won't meet a nicer couple that run the uptown tavern. They cater to your every whim. The food is home made and prepared with care. We found it very affordable.
