Arrived shortly before noon with my grandson and a friend. My grandson was starving as we had been looking for a place to eat for almost 2 hours. This was the only place in town that didn't have a wait at the door. So we happily took our seats and I asked immediately if I could place my grandson's order. The waiter took our order and disappeared. We didn't see him for about 20 minutes. He came back brought two of our drinks and disappeared again another 30 minutes. By this time I asked him for an ETA all my grandson's meal if he would be able to take our order anytime soon. He apologized and said that they only had one cook if they were running behind but he would check on my grandsons meal. Another 15 minutes went by and I finally went to the kitchen window and asked for his meal. When they confirmed it was sitting in the window I've liked the way you're done asked him to please bring it to the table. About five minutes later he did bring it. The plate was scalding hot but the food on it was cold. He finally took our orders and we had the flag him down almost 40 minutes later to try and get a refill on our coffee. By this point over an hour and 40 minutes had passed by the time we entered and placed our order. I asked him again for an ETA on our food. He said he wasn't sure but he would check. 10 minutes later I walked up to the window it asked him to see if our meals were there. They were not. So I flagged the waiter down again and he said he didn't understand how but somehow our orders had been quotation marks blown out of the system end quotation marks. He said he would place the order now it would get our food in 10 minutes. Another 20 minutes went by and we were leaving. My grandson took a few bites out of his sandwich. He never received his drink and we'd had one cup of coffee in all the time that we spent there. When I told the waiter I was leaving I've had enough he brought me a check for $19 and some change. I handed him the check and told him I expected him to comp my grandson sandwich and to take off to drink which he never received. We should have left a check for two cups of coffee which is all we got while we were there. He never brought the check and we left. This was my second bad experience at this Denny's. I will never go there again I advise you it's worth the wait at the Pancake House or anywhere else if you plan on eating in a reasonable amount of time. Avoid this place...
Read moreUpdate: 8/10/24 many changes in the past 2 years and things seemed to be getting better, such as the food, the service and employee attitudes. That was until today, at 5:15PM , we (2 people) wanted to sit in a booth where I could relax, due to my gout. The "seater" wanted to sit us at a table in the middle where my gout foot could be bumped. So I ask, can we sit in a booth about 5ft from the table, but she shot back, WE ARE TRYING TO CLOSE THIS SECTION, AND KEEP EVERYONE CLOSER TO THIS SIDE OF THE RESTAURANT. I said it was just a couple of feet away. she said I GUESS I CAN PUT YOU IN THAT BOOTH, BUT YOU DON"T UNDERSTAND THAT WE'VE BEEN BUSY SINCE 1PM. I said I don't want to put you out, thanks for letting me know what an imposition we are. WE did get a snide smile and a wave good bye as we left. maybe remember who keeps Denny's in business, it ain't the "seater"
We've been going to Denny's for over 35 years, but the service has gone down hill in the past 2 years. Today our server did nothing but complain, from the time we were seated, until we left. Complaints about the customers wanting better service, or no tip because of bad service. We ordered the regular Grand Slam, and took almost 1/2 hour. Another customer ordered 1 milkshake, and he was complaining it took 25 minutes to make. He told the manager, and the manager said, we are short staffed, and things take longer. The customer replied there are only 4 tables being used, and the manager said, if you don't like it, you can just leave, and not come back. Our server never gave us a bill, and we found out she didn't want to be around the manager, so she was taking a time out. While we were waiting, a bus boy dropped menus on the floor, then picked them up, and put them back in a pile with the other menus, that will eventually be put on the tables. There were more employees than customers, and they were having problems getting...
Read moreMy experience was anything but satisfactory. Our server greeted my friend and I with "you guys ready?" I ordered a Hickory Chicken Burger with the sauce on the side on a wheat bun, the order came correctly, however the server neglected to come back until the end of the entree. If she would have came and checked back, I would have asked for a side of barbecue sauce, yet, due to her negligence, I ate my lukewarm burger without a condiment. Instead our server "posted-up" against the counter and stood. She also yelled across the restaurant to ask what my friend was drinking. Instead of standing against the counter (like most servers were doing), time could have been spent filling sugar caddies on the tables (ours had two sugars and a one sweetener) or perhaps filling the salt and pepper shakers, being that our pepper shaker was completely empty, as were most near our table. We had finished our entrees, yet our server was nowhere to be seen. Finally, she came with check in hand asked if we wanted anything else, we responded with "no", she took our appetizer plates (yes, that sat throughout our entire meal) and said have a good day. We went to checkout, the girl at the register said "see you later" to us as we were leaving. I'm not sure what kind of training the staff goes through, however basic use of time and positive attitudes need to be reevaluated with this location. I do not plan to go back to this location anytime soon. I will spend my money elsewhere, perhaps somewhere with better...
