Okay, I'm a little bummed out right now. I came to this place before quite often, haven't been in a while. Apparently, a lot of things have changed. First things first. I ordered all of the sandwiches on sourdough rolls which the girl assured me they had, and then when we opened up the sandwiches there on sliced bread. Which means they're now soggy, because this was a to-go order. We ordered them toasted it feels like they let the toaster look at the bread, bully it a little, and then that was it. The tri-tip. Used to be great now it's bland. Its moist it's tender, but it's tasteless. They put a tiny scrape of barbecue sauce on the sandwich which makes no sense, when you order a BBQ tri-tip sandwich you expect it to be smothered in sauce. Which in the case of this sandwich, is the only place the flavor is coming from, so that's not good. The grilled onions had the butt of an onion with the root still attached and they were undercooked. She also asked for mozzarella instead of cheddar, and instead of shredding it they put it on in a giant cold slab on the sandwich, which was rather unfortunate decision. I ordered the number 13, and as usual, I substituted the turkey for the meatloaf. They had a great homemade meatloaf here. They used to put it on the sandwiches in big thick slices and it was amazing... Not anymore. What I got was more like a very thin hockey puck. It was almost like a hamburger patty but broken. I ordered my husband a cold sandwich but I'm pretty sure it's on bread as well instead of a role which means it'll be soggy and he'll complain.
What happened to you Redwood Sandwich Co.? I'm really bummed out because this was a great healthy alternatives for my kids in Scotts Valley. I used to stop here on the way home to Bonny Doon. Maybe I should just drive up to Masood's. I hope you don't take this the wrong way, I'm just trying to give you valuable feedback, not criticism. Good luck in all...
Read moreA great find at the main intersection in Scotts Valley. We wanted a quick bite to eat before hitting the road, and this place hit the mark.
I had the ham, bacon and cheddar on toasted sourdough. The service was friendly, and quick. The sandwich came out in a couple minutes, and was delicious. It was full of very good produce, and quite large - ended up taking half of it to go.
We also shared a small potato salad that was rich and delicious.
The menu has about 10 different sandwiches, or you can build your own. They also have salads.
And, it runs about $10 per sandwich, which I think was...
Read moreI highly recommend whatever the special of the day is as it has always been good, seriously good! I also really enjoy the bbq trip tip which is also very good. It has a nice sweet bbq sauce, smoked tri-tip, onions and cheddar. They also have a number of breads to choose from. I recently tried the meatball sandwich which was good and i’ve had some of the worst meatball subs and some of the best in nyc and this version left me satisfied which is enough. Their tomato bisque had nice hints of basil, rosemary, bay leaves. the location is nice since it is right off of hwy 17. Worth...
