The best Thai restaurant in the Bay Area is a cozy mom and pop establishment that exudes heart and soul in every dish. Our experience there was absolutely fantastic. It all started when my daughter recommended this place after our visit to Santa Cruz Boardwalk. It was already 9:10 pm, so we decided to give them a call and inquire about their operating hours.
To our delight, the owner answered and kindly informed us that although they close at 9:30 pm, they would be more than happy to take our order over the phone and have it prepared by the time we arrived. He emphasized that there was no need to rush and advised us to drive safely.
Arriving at the restaurant at 9:35 pm, we were pleasantly surprised to find our food already served on the table. Considering how hungry and tired we were, it felt like pure heaven!
The flavors of the dishes were absolutely delightful, and the portion sizes were generous. Furthermore, the prices were reasonable, parking was plentiful, and most importantly, the owners were incredibly caring and welcoming. They encouraged us to take our time and enjoy our meal to the fullest.
In summary, the food was beyond amazing, the portion sizes were just right, the prices were fair, there was ample parking, and the owners went above and beyond to make us feel cherished...
Read moreWow, what a terrific place! The food was outstanding! Solid fresh rolls. The Thai sausage has a unique sour rice flavor and a very nice sweet and sour dipping sauce.
The red curry was a standout. I think it's probably the best red curry in the bay area. We had the roast duck red curry and a red curry with tofu. The vegetables and the thai basil were so fresh, sliced and cooked nicely. The duck was succulent. The spice level was perfect, right on that line where I would not want it any spicier! Also had a rich depth of flavor from their curry paste.
The owners were also such a joy to speak with. For entertainment, a couple of squirrels were being mischievous in the courtyard and visible through the window. The owners named them "Bob" and "Billy".
Great food, great owners, and I really enjoyed the interior. It really felt like a little cozy Bangkok restaurant. And the paint color on the walls was...
Read moreI would highly recommend this small restaurant. The two people who run it work very hard to deliver great food.
We're 50/50 on ordering for dine in vs. take out. It's interesting inside and most of the time very clean, but not "upscale".
The food here is solid, I would recommend the leek cakes if "fried onion dumplings" sound good to you. They're delicious!
There has only ever been one gentleman with short black hair who has served us, and he always has the most positive vibes. It seems like they only have one server on at a time, so keep in mind the limits of a single human if it's busy inside.
If ordering takeout, the food will typically take 25 minutes to cook, and comes out hot and fresh. They pack their to-go food very mindfully, making sure to keep enough stuff separated that it can make a 10 min drive.
Overall a great local spot for some local Thai food that is run by...
