Dutch Bros Coffee — Restaurant in Scottsdale

I’d like to sincerely thank the staff at this Dutch Bros location for their extreme kindness yesterday during my mini meltdown. I had received an 911 call from my daughter that her beloved Frenchie needed to be put to rest. She’d been through several Vet appointments and specialist and unfortunately nothing was working. The Vet informed her that it was truly the best option. I immediately jumped into my car to drive from Cave Creek to Chandler were she was waiting, I but desperately needed coffee to get there. I purposely drove past 2 drive Thur Starbucks because I just didn’t have it in me to deal with their smug staff. Upon reaching the drive thru of Dutch Bros I was immediately greeted by a very kind young man. He could sense that something was wrong, so I told him that I had purposely driven by the other establishments locations because I knew how kind the staff would be at Dutch Bros. He took my order and we chatted a bit. He then insisted on paying for my order!! I told him it wasn’t necessary, that I could pay, but he insisted. I ordered a coffee plus a couple of danish. I figured my daughter probably needed to eat something?! Anyways, when I arrived at the window he was inside telling the cashier that he would personally pay for the danish. Again, I tried to pay, but they refused my debit card. I only had a couple of dollars for a tip because I rarely carry cash ... so I feel bad!! I wanted to write this review because it’s important for people to understand that kindness doesn’t go unnoticed!! That it’s truly appreciated!! Yesterday was one of the hardest days I’ve had in a very long time. Penny, my daughters Frenchie was almost 12. She was a very loved a cherished family member that we’re all grieving terribly. But, that young mans kindness helped me make that long drive safely and for that I Thank him from the bottom...

I’d like to leave some constructive feedback. First, I agree with a lot of the reviews that this is a cute location and the staff is friendly. But there are some definite issues.

We have been going to this location for a couple years and typically have a good experience. I have noticed that the sewer smell inside has not been fixed, and it is completely unbearable. And I am telling you… it has been an issue for YEARS at this point. Also it was very hot inside and I feel bad for the staff working in those conditions. That has to change. (We walked right back outside and got into the drive thru).

Secondly, it was very understaffed today. The poor workers were rushing and trying the best they could but the drive thru line took forever. And when I needed help using the app to get a free drink, the window attendant had to bother one of the busy baristas for help.

And lastly, likely due to the rushing, they messed up one of our drinks. We decided it wasn’t worth turning around to go through all of that again to get the drink fixed, but this is unacceptable considering the prices at Dutch bros.

Overall, I really like this place, but if these issues don’t get fixed we will stop going. Black rock and Starbucks are not too...

Wow, let me start by saying to other businesses that may read this post be more like DUTCH BROS. BE MORE DUTCH. This location is by far the best and my favorite in the scottsdale area, which is closest to where I live. They have several locations near this one that are great!! But this N. Scottsdale location is what excellence looks like regarding whom companies hire to work for them. All of the employees that work here deserve around of applause for their friendless, kindness listening skills cleanliness beautiful smiles and warm personalities every last one of them. I have yet to encounter unfriendly nasty attitudes from this crew, all working different shifts. Jay is one of my favorites her customer service skills are on point, and she's a sweetheart. Again, they are all just a delight no matter the time of day. Hats off to you, DUTCH BROS. Keep up the momentum of excellent service with exceptional employees. I'm starting a movement, BE MORE DUTCH. Stop by this location, and you'll see what I'm talking about.
