I was in the area for work when I decided to try this shop out after going through some of the reviews. It's in a little shopping plaza tucked away near some office buildings and such. They had a drive thru which surprised me as I did not expect that given the area.
I walked in to be greeted by the woman at the front counter, I already had an idea of what I wanted so I didn't really go over the menu. I ordered the carne asada burrito with sides and a drink. It ended up coming out to a little under $20 with a tip. When my food was ready the woman was kind enough to serve me at my table along with providing a couple choices of hot sauce. Over all the food was good and the portions were huge, steak was a little bland but I assume that's where the sauce comes in. The beans were great but the rice just didn't do it for me as there just wasn't a lot going on with the seasoning.
I would definitely recommend you stop by this location and continue to support local shops across the valley. That being said, I honestly don't know how often I would see myself spending $20 just for me to have lunch. Just a little too pricey for what is being offered and there are cheaper alternatives in the area. The pictures that display the menu are inaccurate and you should expect everything to be a few...
Read moreI've been getting the same breakfast burritos regularly here for over a year. The burritos were good, and the service was good at first. After a few months they started messing up my order periodically. I would always order potato, egg and cheese burritos with addition of grilled onions and bell peppers. I ordered my usual burrito and when I got home there were no peppers, and the onions were raw. I called them to let them know and they said they couldn't do anything unless a took a picture of it. What a stupid comment which makes no sense at all. Called a few days later when the manager who knows that I am a regular was there and she told me to come in on a Saturday and they will straighten things out. So, I went through the drive-thru on a Saturday and ordered my usual burrito with grilled green peppers and onions. The proceeded to tell me the burrito does not come with grilled peppers and onions. (I am thinking to myself, well yea, that is why I am ordering them). Long story shorter, I left the drive-thru, went inside and told them they keep their burritos. It's not very difficult to take a customer's order and just do your job but obviously that is too difficult for them. Will never recommend them or purchase...
Read moreAmazing authentic Mexican food north of Phoenix!!! A visit to Mayo clinic for brain surgery brought us to the area and we were told the best authentic Mexican food would be in the south. We stayed at a friend's house in Scottsdale for 10 days and I was looking for good Mexican food nearby. I found Oscars and headed over after reading their menu online. Having been a connoisseur of chimichangas in the Midwest for decades, I decided to try their version. I can honestly say this challenged for one of the top 25 meals I've eaten in my life! Maybe pushing top 10! I will unfortunately never look at chimichangas the same! I could go on forever about their version, but I will leave it at this... you just have to try it. It was so good I went back for a breakfast burrito the next morning, which fed me for 2 mornings! I honestly hope we don't have to go back to Mayo clinic but if we do I will be making a number of stops at Oscars next time...
