Visited there 3x this week, as you can see, the flavors were great which had us come back 2 more times. Each visit I bought an extra large tub and 1 cone spending an estimated $36 so well over over $100 this week alone. Today I visited for the 3rd time with my family, 7 of us total and got the same order, chose 3 flavors but couldn’t decide on a 4th so I asked if I could try the mascarpone and fig and the young lady helping me said “sorry we don’t offer tastings.” My mom and I just looked at each other and thought that was odd. There were about 6 customers in the store at that time. We got our gelato and sat outside and witnessed through the windows that the same young lady was offering tastings to other new customers who came in. The store started getting pretty busy and about half of the customers were asking to try tastings and none were denied. When my mom went in to ask why we couldn’t get a taste the girl said “oh it depends on the situation.” My mom said “what situation?” And she said “well it depends on how many customers are in the store.” This was odd because when we arrived there were only about 6 other guests and when they were serving tastings it was a full house. All that to say, you discriminated against my family, not sure if it’s because my 9 year old daughter is handicapped and in a wheelchair or if you chose to profile us differently but you have lost a customer and I hope others read this and reconsider dining here with so many other choices out there. Bad choice of staff there, I have a lot of Facebook followers and will make sure to inform them all of how disappointing your store and staff was. Revised new details after owners reply below: Owner, it’s a term people use when we say “this week” to mean the last 7 days. I visited Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday so the sarcasm is not appreciated. Furthermore, your associate should have said “sure we can give that to you if there are no others customers in line” at which point I would have gladly waited but was told “we do not offer tastings here” which is a completely different message. Don’t be so quick to assume there were customers behind me because there weren’t, so much so that while she was making my container of gelato the other associate who is male asked me “is there anything more you need that I can help with” because in fact there were NO other customers behind me waiting which is why he offered to help me. It’s poor business to automatically defend the actions of your associates unless you have actual evidence which...
Read moreUPDATE: I have never been back to this establishment, yet the owner keeps posting responses to my review that are lies, like the fact that I have been back multiple times, that there was a long line, etc. Instead of spending time making up excuses and lies about your business, why don't you spend it to listen to customers who complain about your practices? I invite everyone to filter on the negative reviews and see what goes on at this business since it was purchased. The high reviews are for the old owner, the average for new owners is much lower because of business practices like this. UPDATE: In response to owner's response to my original review. There were no customers behind us, in fact the store was nearly empty. I pointed out that fact to you, the owner, to which you replied that it didn't matter, I am not getting a sample because that's your policy. Either you are confusing me with someone else and this is a problem you run into constantly, or you are lying in your response to make it seem like I was the problem. Clearly, I am not the problem. Original review: Came in with 2 kids based on reviews. Lots of pretty gelato to look at and dessert. Asked for samples to decide, after 2 small sample spoons was told, I cannot give you more samples. Two samples. Kids were very disappointed, got what they tried. I was shocked, told the girl I'd get an ice cream if could sample more, she said no. I've been to lots of ice-cream places and this has never happened to me so I was a little shocked. I asked the owner and she said that was the policy and she said they just bought the business recently and that's what it was. I was going to buy about $50 worth of dessert and come to this place regularly, I was disappointed as were my kids and I'm obviously not going here again. Penny wise pound foolish, you saved 5 cents and lost about $500 of annual recurring revenue a year from us. Hopefully it's a good learning opportunity on how to retain customers...
Read moreAfter a rough day, I decided to trade stress for scoops at That's Amore Gelato which to me translates simply to "Happiness by the Scoop"! And let me tell you, it was the best decision ever. Some lovely friends introduced us to the place last year and it is now a frequent stop.
The place smells like pure happiness (seriously, they should bottle it), and I can hardly peel my eyes off all the gorgeous colorful gelatos in the case, just waiting to be chosen! And I so appreciate the friendly staff who always make you feel like family, never rushed, just sweet and welcoming.
I usually stick to my go-tos: Coranetta (sweet and slightly tart cherry) and Dulce de Leche (both ridiculously delicious), but this time I got adventurous. I mean I was stressed out after all, so a little adventure was the plan for resetting my day!
So, I went for a small dish with Rocky Road and Lemon Meringue which are both favorite flavors and still turned out to be an unexpected but genius combo. I mean it's hard to not love chocolate and lemon! Creamy, rich, tart, and chocolatey – basically a dessert love story in a cup. Yes please!!
Family-owned, super clean, friendly staff and always a treat worth making the stop for! That's Amore Gelato has never disappointed me. Whether you're celebrating or just surviving the day, this place makes everything better...one spoonful at a time. And yes, I am already planning my next visit! Thanks That's Amore Gelato! ...
