Located behind the bookcase...located in the boardroom...located in the Scottsdale Resort at McCormick Ranch...located in Old Town Scottsdale... There are many speakeasies around town, as they have really gained popularity, and The Madam is one that really has that true prohibition secretive feel. It's a small dark space that only seats eight. Reservations are recommended, especially outside of slower summer hours. We visited in July and were the only patrons for a couple of hours. (Downside to that is that they did close early, after we left, due to low turnout.) We were greeted by bartender Kadek as he handed us each a small introductory sipping glass of his own delicious concoction. We each ordered a signature cocktail from the menu to start but trusted Kadek for the rest. He asked our tastes and made us each a couple of great cocktails of his choosing. There are a few lite bites to choose from as well, so we enjoyed some crab cakes and the truffle fries. Being the only guests in the bar, we had fun getting to know Kadek. He was a few months into his 1 year hospitality internship with the hotel and quickly moved from serving to tending bar. We enjoyed learning about him growing up in Bali and his future career plans. He really made the experience great, and we never would have guessed that he was newer to creating cocktails. We truly had a fun time. So much so that we went to the hotel desk and grabbed a room for the night so that we could enjoy Kadek and The Madam a little longer.

Cool little space, we had a girls night there on a random Tuesday night. Had a normal cocktail but let me say something. A drink the is $27 (plus an included tip of $5 ā€œresort feeā€) is some crazy prices for a small vodka infused drink. I came, I saw and I will NEVER be back again. It’s not like they had entertainment that made the atmosphere something to write home about. It’s literally a to behind a small room behind a bookshelf. If you think you want to go know that drinks are $35 each.

Fun little speakeasy in the hotel. It's on the second floor. Finding the entrance is the best part. Well decorated in a dim room, little tables and seats. Perfect for conversation. The music and the audio system need some upgrades, but the experience is amazing.

While this concept is a great idea, the execution here is a mess! The Madam is behind abookcase in the Boardroom Social. You make reservations yet there is no one managing the process. So, 8:30 reservations not seated by 9. Drinks that had garnishments at 7pm were ungarnished by 9pm. If there is a group in bar downstairs, they turn on lights to rush you out due to staffing. Long story short, my recommendation is to avoid and spend...
