Well I was really looking forward to coming to stay here as my brother had an appointment at the Mayo clinic. From the pictures to really thought it was going to look a lot nicer. We actually went into a wrong location thinking it was the nicer buildings. Upon arrival there were some questionable people pulling into the parking lot with a dog. Upon check in, the girl front desk could not multitask. There was a line of us waiting to check in at about 6:00 p.m. it took forever to check in. We asked if we can have a menu to the restaurant and she said we could probably find one in our room, and handed my brother the key cards. We retrieved our luggage and attempted to go to our room when we realized she didn't give us a room number and did not write it on the key cards. So once again we had to wait in line to figure out what the room number was. The room was ordinary nothing special. The bathtub showed wear and damage and really needed the grout to be redone in the shower. The towels were not soft and pretty rough. Though the beds were comfortable and the linen was clean. We did have a view of the parking lot. But that turns out to be better because the unsavory visitors actually obtained a room across the hall from us and they had a lovely view of the pool and lake. I know this because I went down to the pool looking for a Jacuzzi after our long day. There was no jacuzzi. I was told the pool was heated but it was cold. There was sand and sediment in the bottom of the pool. There was no one at the pool which was nice but I did not stay. There was a loud music coming from the characters that checked in with the dog.The dog was barking off the balcony and loud music and voices booming. You should know they charge a resort fee! You need to stay two nights in order to use any of the amenities, check in at 4:00 and leave by 11:00 doesn't leave much time to use the amenities in one day. Kayaking would have been nice and they do have bicycles that you can borrow. There is restaurants nearby you could ride bicycles to. I felt the location was convenient. We were visiting for medical reasons and thought this would be a nice place to treat ourselves. For being "Scottsdale" which is known to be an uppity place really disappointed and would look to stay elsewhere. *I will add that the staff is trustworthy. My brother left his tablet in the room and they actually called us and let us know! so we were able to return and retrieve the tablet so that...
Read moreWe recently held our wedding at The McCormick Scottsdale, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we knew this was the place for us. The breathtaking ceremony space overlooking the lake set the perfect romantic backdrop for our vows. We were particularly drawn to Debra, the wedding coordinator, who was by far the sweetest and most helpful person we met during our venue tours. Her warmth and attention to detail made us feel completely at ease.
The customer service throughout the process was beyond exceptional. Not only did we make lifelong connections with the team, but they also created a wonderfully romantic yet relaxing atmosphere for our big day. Our guests were able to enjoy the serene surroundings while we felt completely supported during the entire wedding planning process.
The venue itself was absolutely stunning. The ceremony space by the lake was magical, and the reception space with its glass walls overlooking the lake and ceremony site was simply breathtaking. We loved that we had the freedom to personalize the space with our own decorations, making the event feel truly our own.
The venue took care of so many great amenities within our wedding package; including the amazing food and open bar, an overnight room for the Bride and Groom, the wedding cake, the Bridal Suite, Champagne for our champagne wall and even discounts for our family and friends to stay there, and so much more. Everything felt seamless and stress-free, thanks to their thoughtful planning and coordination.
We wholeheartedly recommend The McCormick Scottsdale to any couple looking for a wedding venue in Arizona. Whether you're planning your big day or just looking for a romantic getaway, this resort offers everything you need for a...
Read moreThe beautiful views and lovely outdoor seating options, unfortunately, did not compensate for the negatives at this resort. For the price, we have enjoyed much better accommodations and service elsewhere. The rooms are very dated to the point there are no USB chargers and the beds/bedding were very uncomfortable. The inefficient air conditioning was right next to the bed and unavoidably blowing directly on me. The balcony was nice although the door was very difficult to open and close. The faucet in the shower was loose and looked as if it could come off the wall with a slight tug. While the views were beautiful, enjoying them in the evening is limited. The pool lights were turned off around 8 and was barren, despite saying it was open until 10pm. Likewise the bar/restaurant closed at 10pm, leaving little ambience to enjoy in the evenings. No music, drinks, food, etc. available. 10pm may sound reasonable but, while on vacation, it felt a bit early. We stayed for 4 nights and didn't ask for housecleaning but did ask, once, to have our wastebaskets emptied. They were not emptied but we were left several wastebasket bags on the armchair in our room. Were we supposed to empty them and where would we put the garbage? Upon asking for toilet paper, a roll was also left on the armchair instead of in the bathroom. For this price-point, we expected much more. Upon checking in, the woman at the front desk was very pleasant, however, the rest of our experience with the front desk was mediocre. There is water in the lobby, to be expected in AZ, but coffee in the mornings would be a nice touch. Regrettably, we won't be staying here again, which is sad considering the views are beautiful and calming. This location has so much going for it but needs considerable updating and positive changes to...
