Scottsdale Spa in Phoenix - Skincare and Massage

I’ll be honest, after reading the most recent comments, I was very nervous coming here. Let me start by staying if you wanting a true spa experience, meaning the atmosphere/vibe, this isn’t it. BUT if you’re wanting a good service, relaxing time. This spa will not disappoint. It’s very strange how it is tucked away in an office building, and when you first walk in, I will agree with others, it feels very ā€œthrown togetherā€. But I had Karen for a 90 min massage and then Suzi for a 60 min facial. Both woman were amazing. The massage the best I’ve had in a very long time and the facial was perfect. Dark rooms, nice relaxing music, very attentive to what you requested. The only reason for giving 4 stars is being of the esthetic of the ā€œspaā€.

Absolutely amazing I never leave google reviews but felt the need to. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. They have the cutest little tea cup puppies who are also very welcoming. The ambiance of the spa is amazing and very relaxing as well. The front desk host recommended I wait in the relaxation room and I nearly fell asleep waiting for my ride. My massage technician was Jade, she is very holistic and focusing on healing. She made sure to address my specific needs and went above and beyond. I’ve had tension in my neck and shoulders for quite some time and I feel completely relieved and relaxed now. I’m going to sleep like a baby today.

First let me say that I have written less than a handful of bad reviews I’m my lifetime, this being one of them, & it takes A LOT to get me angry but here I am. I hope my testimony below will help others make an informed decision & avoid the bad service / highway robbery that my friends & I experienced at Spa Scottsdale. On February 11th I joined several friends for a girls spa day at Spa Scottsdale where I had planned to enjoy a massage & facial ($180). While there I was offered a consultation with Dr. David for aesthetic services (Botox/fillers). I have a nurse practitioner that I see approx. every 8 mo - year for these services, but decided to move forward with the injections even though the cost was 3x more than I had ever paid in the past….. ā€œbut he’s a doctorā€ I thought to myself. I walked out of there more than $2k lighter in my wallet & after the swelling went down felt like I had been shot up with water. Never before have I received injections & not gotten regular compliments from all those around me … whether it be my (wrinkle-free) face, perky cheekbones, plumped lips or wide open eyes. People always notice a difference. After leaving Spa Scottsdale…… Nothing!!! Not even ONE compliment!!! But, how were my friends to notice when I hardly noticed a difference myself. I did not contact Spa Scottsdale to complain because I thought Renee, the owner, was close friends with my friend that organized the spa day. I didn’t want to hurt someones friendship over $$. It wasn’t until a few months later that my friend contacted me to ask how satisfied I was with my service from Spa Scottsdale. She mentioned that she & one of the other girls that attended that day were not satisfied at all. I then told her how completely disappointed I was with the results & felt I had been shot up with water and robbed of $2k+. On April 13th, Renee was contacted and advised of our dissatisfaction. Renee made appointments for 3 of us to come back in. When I returned on 4/21 (just 2.5 months after initial $2k+ injections), I expressed to the doctor that I felt like my face had been shot up with water. He apologized & agreed that the fillers did not hold up as he would expect. He administered more fillers/botox. When he was finished, I expressed to him my lips were not plump enough. He told me that I never mentioned this during the first appointment (which I did) so it was going to cost me $385. Seriously?! I should have walked out, I know!!! But, I ended up paying the money. A few weeks later once again I had not received even one compliment for what was now $2,500+ worth of injections over the last 3 month & was again completely disappointed with the results. I did not contact Spa Scottsdale & was just going to walk away. Why would I contact them now? Going back did not resolve anything the first time AND instead I was made to pay more $$ for what I had asked for the first time around! On 7/6, I returned to my regular aesthetician (the nurse practitioner) knowing she would give me the results that Dr David obviously was not capable of. While getting injections she'd made comments in the past about still ā€˜feeling’ previous fillers (from 8+ months ago), but not this time! When I asked, she said she felt some but very little. After telling her how much I'd spent the last 145 days she was shocked, disgusted & said I had been robbed. When I mentioned that Dr David flies in from Canada 1x/month to perform these services, her first questions was where the injectables are coming from... Canada or the US? Good question….. I don’t know. My friends & I have been trying to resolve our issues quietly and civilly with the owner, Renee, but she has been nothing but rude and extremely unprofessional! She claims that we are just looking for free injections. Hahaha!!! Hell NO!!! I would never trust that doctor near my face again. Renee’s actions & antics have left us no choice but to file a report with the BBB & post our experience in hopes of protecting others from the highway robbery this business is...

In the competitive spa battlegrounds of North Scottsdale, this place has REALLY set themselves apart in a number of ways. Was looking for a facial on a late Thursday afternoon, expecting to get an appt. Friday which was fine by me. Called around 4 places and only got answer machines or leave a text and we’ll get back blah blah (the ever automated world we live in, right?) decided to give it one last try with a call 5 - I actually got the incredibly friendly voice- so friendly at first i thought Rene, the owner, was an another answer machine at first!

Man, was this first class customer service from the jump. Told Rene I had been surfing Groupon for a quality facial at around the $50-$80 price point and although they had an offer for a facial at $65, i believe it was more of their base relaxation service… without hesitation, Rene said I will honor that price - come on in at 4:30 today (mind you we are having this convo at 2:45 on a business day) and I will set you up with one of our best aestheticians and get your needs taken care of. Rene is ALLLL GOOD VIBES.

Now I know this part of this experience can’t apply to everyone, but about 7 mins after leaving my house, my gps said arrived- crazy convenient location across from shea 14.. gps had me pull into a beautiful tuscan style building which drives you down a narrow corridor dip through a picturesque plaza reminiscent of Italy. i lived in scottsdale on and off for 20 years and had never seen this lol!

Fast forward walked into their luxurious suite with a friendly face to greet - Rene - and as if I thought the experience would really live up to the friendly voice accommodating short notice/honoring a discount/beautiful convenient location… it not only DID, it got better. Rene is a world class business owner and while filling at 2 simple pages of paperwork, she cared to ask how my day was going, tell me the history of the spa, and we even chatted about how she is in need of my services.

Before I knew it, I was greeted by a friendly and super cool aesthetician named Tara who immediately asked if I needed anything at all before starting- water, bathroom, a hundred bucks? jk lol/ but for real, that is what I felt like. first class. Now I am a 35 y.o. guy with a fairly good skincare routine so I am not a frequent flyer with facials…. but I was certainly not privy to the fact they began with a neck, shoulder, arm and hand massage. I was in heaven and Tara made me feel beyond comfortable. She was soooo detail oriented and explained everything she was doing, which I found fascinating and she exuded this passion for her craft that set the experience over the top. last time i had a facial that included extraction, i remember pain. Tara has turned the art of the facial into the most relaxing, painless experience and refreshingly soothing spa service you are going to find behind a massage… now i’m going to get weird and make this sound like a psychedelic experience, but my face literally felt like it was reborn…singing, glowing, radiating upon her completion. I am sure Rene’s entire staff is on par with Tara, but I URGE YOU to request her if you want a fun and beautifully kind personality that has a near decade of experience and shows it.

NEXT DAY RESULTS: Now, I am blessed with good skin and perhaps my skincare routines have kept my appearance youthful over the years as I still somehow get carded at bars and restaurants and liquor stores at age 35 and most guess I am under 30… but today, I truly feel like the clocks have turned back. Where did my pores go? My skin is so supple and radiant! I date a girl in her 20’s and she said damn Dru… I feel like I am going to look the elder when we go out this weekend. lmao

WHAT. AN. EXPERIENCE. do not hesitate to try this place out. Already recommended to my mom and my lady. and they got me for life.

oh… and I just now got a call from one of the other spa’s 23 hours later…lol smh..

Rene, Tara- My sincerest gratitude for the stellar experience!!! You ladies are...

Edit after reading owner’s laughable response: Ma’am have you heard of customer service? How do you run a business? I ā€œhad an attitude the moment I walked inā€? I was excited to be getting a facial and played with the three dogs you had. I also complimented on how cute the spa was. You are clearly delusional and have some sort of problem that you are unable to take accountability for your actions and the actions of your business. It’s not hard to rectify a situation when the business is clearly the one that made multiple mistakes, not the customer. You made no attempt to rectify it. You were willing to accommodate an hour appointment when I am paying for an hour appointment? That’s not accommodating, that’s providing a service for which a customer pays for. You insinuated that it was all my problem. Which makes sense considering the immature and unacceptable response you replied with. I’m speechless at how unprofessional and uneducated you are. Everyone, if you read the other one-star reviews, you will see a pattern.

Do not go here. Worst experience I’ve had. Got here at 3:25 for 3:30 appt. Filled out form and waited. Apparently the Facialist bumped my time to 3:45, because earlier a client was late and they were now running behind. How is that my fault? If a client is late they should get a shorter service, not penalize every other client afterwards. They said I should have received a text notifying me of the time change and I did not. Turns out they entered my phone number incorrectly when I gave it to them over the phone. The Facialist came out at 3:55 to start my service, 25 minutes late. I said, is this session supposed to be a full hour? Do you guys always run this behind, because this is my first time at the spa and it’s not a good first impression. I have to be somewhere at 5:15. The Facialist said that we could get as much time in as I could. As if it was my problem! I said I want to get what I paid for which is a full hour. She said well if you don’t have time today the best thing to do is just reschedule, then she walked out. She was rude, condescending, and immature- her name was Brittany. The owner was also not helpful nor was she apologetic or understanding. She told me I should book my service on a day when I don’t have somewhere to be afterwards because they’re so slammed and booked back to back. Excuse me? How is that the client’s problem? Is that how appointments work? The only kind person was the blonde with glasses, I believe Glenna or Gwen was her name. She was the only one who was empathetic and said sorry. I immediately refunded my Groupon and will never support this establishment. Beyond unprofessional. Couldn’t believe they made their poor planning and scheduling...
