VERY Good railroad museum focusing on steam powered locomotives, and steam era train culture, innovation, and it's influences on wealth and society. Wonderful for young and old (my 91 year old dad had a blast!) alike. The round house viewing platform and operational turntable demonstrations were unique in my experience with train "museums". Look, if you have even a slight interest in steam locomotives, just go! Even if you don't get out of your vehicle, you can still be awed by the 4012 Union Pacific "Big Boy" on display beside the parking lot. If you use a walker, wheelchair or mobility scooter (like I and my dad did) you are good to go!

This museum is free. Great for kids of all ages interested in trains and history. Great tour of the roundhouse and shop. You can go inside the actual trains that ran and have been restored. Amazing craftsmanship being done there today just as in the early 1900’s. I’ll be going back to see more of the museum. So wonderful to have our history preserved with such care, dedication, and passion.

Trains and railroads are such an epic part of Pennsylvania’s history, and this place brings it to life beautifully. 🚂 It’s amazing to see the different engines and how they work. The exhibits are stunning, well-maintained, and truly engaging — you can easily get lost in time here. A must-visit for anyone!
