Main Ave Ice Cream — Restaurant in Scranton

My dog Duffy is always free so we go there often.. The lemon Italian ice is really good.. They are always great to my dog and he even jumps up and puts his paws on the window and barks as if placing his order.. Sometimes they will even give him free seconds.. The only thing I ever didn't like was when a woman who I had never seen there before was working (she had long dark hair) I ordered a chocolate shake and then seconds later noticed that they had shamrock shakes and I quickly asked if I could change my order and she told me no because she had already started making it.. I was shocked that she told me no! And I was stuck with something I didn't really want and a bad taste in my mouth about the business.. I love the place but I think that is not the way to run a business and I hope that someone from this place sees this and tells their employees that if a customer changes his mind right away you let them change their order even if you did scoop out a little of the other kind.. They didn't even give me the option of paying for the tiny bit of ice cream that was scooped at the point I changed my mind but no place really does that either.. I think it's better to waste a tiny bit of your product and have a happy customer then to actually say to a customer it's too late I already started making it.. This was quite insulting and I think that this girl had no business sense. Anyway other than that I love ❤️ the place. I love ❤️ the dog friendly atmosphere and my Duffy loves going for ice cream and that's where we go! Several times a week! So if that girl had lost our business there are 4 of us going several times a week and all of us buy something.. That's alot of business she would have lost.. I love this place! It's been particularly hot outside, so my fiancee and I walked up here for a cool treat. We both ordered milkshakes, and before leaving I asked about getting a small cup of vanilla ice cream with a lid on it for my dog. I was perfectly willing to pay for it, but the gentleman waiting on us showed us a slightly larger cup they use for dogs. He put a small amount of ice cream in it, and topped it off with a dog treat. We love Main Ave Ice Cream!! Friendly staff with great service always, wide variety of flavors and options, great prices! No matter how warm it is outside their ice cream is made to perfection. Their are some places by the time you get it, it's melting or you can't even sit outside to eat it because you know you can't enjoy it because it will melt so fast. However, with Main Ave it's made just right and you know no matter if it's an extremely hot day, you can't count on them to be the perfect spot to enjoy your favorite ice cream treat!
