Please read further for my positive commentary on restaurant itself. First I must speak of what I feel is most important. Pulling into this location, especially the drive thru was dangerous. Too dark, cannot see where to enter and cannot see entry signs and ended up facing a do not enter sign. Took me couple tries to get to the drive thru.
Owners, I am not interested in playing a board game akin to mousetrap. Glad I was not attempting to enter location on a wheelchair, I would have been petrified of the ingress and egress traffic.
For the positive things I truly feel and am about to say about this location, I honestly think owners should fix this ingress and egress, it is awful and an atrocity! Dangerous to say the least. I was attempting to pull in from Washington St and was driving with Popeye's approaching on my right if it gives any help when you are looking to repair the problem, which I hope you will do sooner rather than later.
About restaurant: Man who took my order was fantastic, very polite and patient. Answered all my questions and helped me come to a decision. This was my first Popeye's visit, I am unfamiliar with the menu. I am grateful to have had him and his service.
Order was correct and tasted fine, but for my choice, I would have preferred it to be less crunchy. Crispy, yes, I like crispy, but this felt like I was biting into a few big chunks of the batter or breading. After I got past those clumps, it was slightly drier than I like, but taste was good. Many people might like that crunch, sorry, but I am not one of them.
Female at window was perky and sweet. I asked who it was that took my order, she told me his name and said he is manager. I think she said his name is Jamal, I am not certain though. My meal was nicely placed in a box and seemed packed with care. I only wish I had requested additional butter for the biscuit, it was good, but personally, I like a...
Read moreI would like to start by saying that I have worked in fast-food before and am well aware of how stressful a fast-paced working environment is, especially if you're a new hire and the store is short staffed. Yesterday night, on September 10th, 2020, I experienced Popeye's for the first time ever. A lot of folk talk about it, mostly good, very few bad. So here's my share of the bad: I waited for over an hour on a 16 piece meal; the beans, while very flavorful, tasted a bit too pungent for my personal taste; the macaroni and cheese's sauce had a texture that was kinda gritty. Here's the good: I wasn't charged for the abundance of sauces I had asked for; the staff was my type of polite in the way where they rush you but they don't do so in a way that comes across as off-putting in my opinion; the chicken is heckin' amazing, kinda sweet tasting, very crispy, an enjoyment in both texture and flavor; hold up, slap that chicken on a salty biscuit with some of their sauces, and it's even better; the cajun fries are out of this world; the taste of their Dr. Pepper is the best out of any fast-food place I've been to--whoever maintains the dispensers, keep it up, you're doing great; the banana parfait is also unique and really delightful. To compensate us for the one hour we had been waiting, they filled us up on chicken and gave us an extra parfait. An employee sounded a bit upset, not at me, not at anyone, just in general about the situation. I could tell he was sorry, but, honestly, we're all only human. I look forward to visiting here again. Keep up the good work, and don't let the stress get to...

My wife wanted to order something sweet after hours, I was not enough. We figured we would try something new, we had never had Popeye's before. The most exposure I've had was Adam Sandler claiming they were 'Awesome' in "Little Nicky", but the early 2000's were a different time.
We ordered some Chocolate Chip Biscuits, the cheesecake thing, and I got a box of chicken. It was called The Box or something. I figured for the first time, just hit up the classics.
I ate some fries and they tasted like how Long John Silvers smells as you drive by. I was good on the fries.
I moved on to a drumstick. Clearly cooked in the same batter as the fries. Everything stunk like LJS musk. The meat was fully cooked but the batter and skin were super salty. Tried a couple bites but was giving up fast.
I noticed a biscuit tucked away. I am impressed with the weight of them. If you freeze it, it would be dangerous. Was wondering how these would compare because I'm not a fan of the Colonolonols biscuits. Once my tongue hit the bottom- Salt. Dry. Nothing else. So far I'm at a couple fries, two bites of chicken and a bite of biscuit. This Door Dash was $35.
I ate the chocolate chip biscuit, that was good. And my wife liked her cheesecake thing. But I wish I liked how everything tasted because I got to try it again about 40 minutes later.
I don't think I have a weak stomach, and I'm not a picky eater. I ate a pizza with pasta on top of it from Joey's Pizza and it was delicious. Something ain't right at...
