Zuppa Del Giorno — Restaurant in Scranton

So on our mini roadtrip this past week to WV-PA we stopped in Scranton, PA. for a visit to Steamtown, National Park. Prior to the Steamtown visit we had to have lunch, not being from the area I did a best of Scranton search and one place that caught my eye was Zuppa Del Giorno, am I glad it did!!!! A location that was out of the "downtown" area but easily accessible with ample parking on this Friday afternoon. We went in and were immediately greeted by a friendly person who not only seated us and brought our food but the owner. Some good tunes on the radio were playing and we each ordered a split combo/, talk a salad and half a sandwich. Mine was the Parmesan Pesto Ham Panini and a Chicken Caprese Salad. The salad was what some places would call large and so would I, the panini sandwich was grilled perfectly with a golden brown char fresh cheese and Boar's Head ham. This was a perfect lunch choice I can't say enough about the food , just perfect. Typically I take pictures of what I ordered and provide my writeup. As you can see no pictures of any of our selections because I was so impressed with my fresh "1/2" portion salad I couldn't wait to try the other half of my combo the sandwich. The picture I provided is more of a testament as to how everything turned out, everything was EXCELLENT. My wife ordered a combo consisting of 1/2 B.C.R Salad with Chicken and the Croquettes Monsieur sandwich, she as I did dug in as soon as it was placed on our table. Sorry no pics, but I can say 100% this place is a must go if you are looking for a great lunch selection, the combo selection are the best value I have had ANYWHERE, not to mention the taste and the welcoming feeling you get when you walk in. GREAT GREAT would have placed 6 stars if possible. Before I forget I should mention the pricing is super reasonable for what you get for the combo as we ordered. I can’t give you a review on their food because we didn’t even make it to the food. Their customer service is horrible. I never met somebody so rude in my entire life that we couldn’t even make it to the food. I work in customer service so I know a good customer service and they lack that, it’s so sad I’m sure it could be a really good place but when you have ignorant tag team man and women waiting on you was just enough there.. My co-workers and I buy lunch from Zuppa at least once a week now. Sometimes more when they have Thai Coconut Chicken soup!
