Cooper’s Sea Food Restaurant is a Scranton classic with personality for days. You spot the quirky lighthouse exterior from the highway, then step inside and it’s a whole vibe—nautical kitsch done right, cozy wood booths, and a buzzing bar that feels like vacation even on a Tuesday.
Food-wise, Cooper’s delivers the hits. The lobster bisque is rich and velvety, the fried seafood platter is perfectly crispy (nothing greasy, just golden), and the blackened fish tacos slap. If you’re feeling adventurous, the sushi rolls are a fun surprise for a seafood house—fresh and well put together. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and service is warm in that “we’ve been doing this forever” way. Bonus points for the kids’ menu and the little touches—fresh bread, quick refills, and staff who actually know the menu.
Do not skip the Office Gift Shop on your way out. It’s a love letter to Scranton’s most famous paper company—Dunder Mifflin swag, clever merch, and great souvenir options if you’ve got a fan in the family (or are one yourself). It’s the kind of place where you come for dinner and leave with a “World’s Best Boss” mug and zero regrets.
Bottom line: Come hungry, take pics with the lighthouse, enjoy some legit seafood, and grab a little piece of Scranton TV history on the way out. Cooper’s is exactly the kind of spot you tell people about when they ask what makes...

Just a really neat experience for a fan to say you were at Coopers (even though we all know nothing was filmed there). You wouldn't know the gift shop was in there though unless you knew already. The only thing I will say is that some of the items that you can find elsewhere are a bit overpriced. It makes sense since there is a captive audience. Only other downsides: I got there after the opening time and had to wait for someone to vacuum before I could go in and then had to wait to checkout because they didn't even open the register until about an hour...
Read moreAbsolutely awful management. Items were individually priced. Got to register and item was $5 more. Even associate saw price on item. They would not honor it. Manager came and stated she cannot honor listed price and they have to go with what comes up in the computer because she has been reprimanded by owner. We came two hours away to check out this neat store and it was neat until that. We left empty handed because of the poor way they do business. They state the price labels do not mean anything because they have to go by the computer. Not a way to take care of customer and do business. If it could be a zero...
