Alice's Kitchen — Restaurant in Sea Bright

Very disappointed, we have been coming here regularly for the past 2 summers and the last 2 times have been nothing but disappointing. Today's visit provoked this post. Our breakfast order consisted of an omelet, irish soda scone and a breakfast sandwich, we were told it was going to be a wait. Ok, np. The most disturbing thing about this morning was the condition of the restaurant, it was filthy. There was an oder as soon as you walked in. As we sat down and ordered coffee we noticed the floor was dirty, paper, wash towels, food all over. The place was a mess, there were air conditioners and fans everywhere, they were cleaning dirty dishes in the back of the dining area where you are also eating your food. The entire experience today has made us want to look elsewhere. The omelet was ok, the toast came late and was served in pieces, the scone was dry and my kaiser roll was a little stale as well. Very unfortunate because I have loved this place since the first time I visited. Going forward I will think twice... One more thing, the servers are mostly young (that's not the problem) it seems like they are not properly trained. One young server kept jumping on the stool with both legs on the stool, your customer's don't sit like that and they're paying.... where's the etiquette and...

This is a small diner type restaurant. We came in for breakfast and took 20 minutes to be seated. Ordered breakfast typical eggs bacon pancakes. Food took about 40-45 min to arrive. Meanwhile folks next to us who were seated after us got their breakfast similar to our order in about half the time. The only difference between our tables were race. Asians vs White. The white folks got their food first despite they being seated 10 min after us. When my food arrived it was missing the bacon but that was remedied quickly. For the size of the restaurant the grill area is tiny so average time to get food is very slow, slower if you aren’t white. Furniture is old and wood with plastic table cloth. The place needs a good cleaning. Seating is tight you will be bumping arms with your servers and neighbors. I probably won’t return from...

Service was very slow and tables that got there after us were being served before, which is a little annoying. I had an orange juice that was super fresh and delicious, but my eggs Benedict were overcooked and seemed microwaved. The hollandaise sauce was a little insipid, and the corned beef hash was actually tasty and well cooked. My partner had a grilled cheese. The waiter didn't even ask about sides and just brought the sandwich with some fries, which my partner did not eat. I wish the waiter had asked about options and offered alternatives like a side salad. Prices were decent compared to neighboring restaurants. But it's one of those places where you have to know what to order based on online evals or recommendations... not everything is good and they don't explain the...
