John's Philly Grille: If You're Going Out for a Sandwich Why Go Anywhere Else? John's Philly Grille is located in Seal Beach California on the Pacific Coast Highway. It's a sandwich shop. Nothing fancy. About six tables inside and four outside. People who bring their dogs sit outside. I haven't seen any cats or iguanas yet but I guess it's possible. You order at a counter. The help is friendly and helpful. They bring the food to the table, make sure you have the condiments you need and are always ready with answers for any questions or requests. The basics of any sandwich is the bread. This bread is fresh baked daily and it is delicious. The crust is slightly firm and the body is aromatic. Once you've had a sandwich on the bread here my bet is you'll never go back to that underground railroad place. There are several variations; mushrooms, provolone, green peppers, etc. There's a chopped pepper topping that's just the right amount of spicy for this. Whenever my son comes to town we go there. The quote in the title is his. If You're Going Out for a Sandwich Why Go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI rarely do Google Reviews, but this place took me by surprise. I was staying at a hotel around here, and there was a taco bell next door but I wanted to explore. I found John's Phillly Grille which was pretty much a hole in the wall. But it was quite busy. Tons of people on their lunch and there was almost no space inside.
I ordered got my food and left and holy GOD. This is no ordinary cheese steak. The bread is almost perfect first of all. Secondly they don't skimp on steak and cheese. The thing I really noticed though is that the peppers actually have some real kick to them. My sandwich was nice and spicy.
The sandwich was so good that I saved the last two bites to savor them later. I don't know when I'll end up in Seal Beach again as I am from Colorado but I will definitely hit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis philly steak place makes me smile. I always get their mushroom philly stake sandwhich. One can get half sandwich or full sandwich. I get their cherry soda from Philadelphia as well. They have a nice hot sauce that I pour on my sandwich, it provides a little kick. Dont put tabasco or tapatio or sriracha..my humble opinion. The bread is toasted. I also get the onons and peppers. They always ask whether i want it. Caution. It is a juicy sandwich. As the beef, cheese ,mushrooms, onions and peppers are just coming out of the grill. I usually take their fork and e at some filling , dont want to wear the sandwich...now one need the rocky movies to go with...
