We have been eating at Mako since it opened its doors last year and, at first it was great. Service has been declining and now they have consolidated with Bamboo Grill, which we had stopped eating at because the food wasn't great, the service staff developed an attitude, and one of the primary staff was flat rude to deal with. Today, we had a to-go order that cost $50.00 and when I got it home, it was only half the order. Wife called back and we were told they would remake the order, CORRECTLY. When I got there they charged us for part of the "do-over" because it amounted to a third item, so our $50.00 lunch cost us $70.00 and we were left with the original item that was cold and it DOES NOT REHEAT with a darn. We won't be going back and you are rolling the dice if you order to go there. Oh yeah, it looks like the only people working there now, other than one of the chefs, are the ones who were at Bamboo Grill, including...

This ramen place is something else. I was delighted to see that they had Miso soup (one of my favorite Asian dishes), and it was hands down the best thing on the menu. Coloring and presentation were top notch in beautiful ceramic bowls, and the dish was perfectly prepared with a savory and balanced blend of noodles, broth, and menma. Complementing my noodle experience, the atmosphere was felt warmly modern, but still hearkening back to ramen’s origins in Japan, with serval iconic works of art displayed around the restaurant. To finish it all off, the staff were quite cordial and accommodating, swiftly delivering noodles to our mouths in less than 10 minutes. Without a doubt, I will be coming again and again to Mako Ramen for years to come. My compliments to the chef!

Also, say hi to Master Kim if...

We literally just had dinner here and it was the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Very confused how the young lady working here was hired when she looks so unwelcoming, rude and no customer service skill at all.

We asked her to give us few mins to look at the menu. She was nowhere to be found for more than 15 mins.

She took our order without writing it down. Sure must have great memory. 20 mins later all our orders came except the ramen. We waited a little more but yeah SHE FORGOT.

Just plain rude. Just the attitude that makes you just want to take your food out.

We went here before with an amazing service and food and even recommended to friends and family. After today NEVER COMING BACK.

NOT...

A friend has just moved in down the street and I was craving ramen. We decided to try this spot. While the karaage was decent, my entire group was shocked at how disappointing the rest of the food was. This ramen restaurant is likely the worse I've gone to in Orange County. The ramen was mediocre and the gyoza was soggy and looked like burnt spare ribs. On a positive note, this place does offer soju and other alcohol.

I am not a Ramen expert. For me this was a great little place to have Ramen with my daughter. Clean. Kind and fast service. Gyoza was fried well, not soggy and delicious. We both enjoyed our Ramen. I went Spicy Miso which was the right level for white boy spicy. I loved the mochi which Is mango, vanilla, and strawberry. Would come again. Have to see if this, or Rock'n Ramen, is better.

It's esp. good during chilly, cold weather. The (okonomiyaki) egg-noodle dish was tasty--would love for them to make it more Japanese style, so good! Miso ramen was flavorful enough. Tuna on crispy rice YUM. Poke was OK--maybe ditch the mayo & pool of soy sauce. Service terrific. Sat 3:45 PM meal. May Mako Ramen thrive through 2025 & 2026 (brace for it, America).
