This McDonald's was a very welcoming and lovely place to enjoy spending some time catching up with a good friend of mine. This establishment helped both me and my friend out by giving her a good place to handle an urgent business meeting that came up last minute, as well as making it possible for us to keep our phones from dying and charge up our portable chargers for later with their various wall outlets, which considering not every fast food place offers such conveniences was a huge bonus!! They also provided shelter from the miserable storm that was going on outside and allowed me to be warm while waiting for my clothes to dry off once more. On top of all that though, the staff was incredibly gracious by letting us be there all day, first and foremost, without harrassing us or demanding that we leave after a certain amount of time or anything (we did purchase food and drinks multiple times throughout our time there though and of course didn't bother any other customers or make a nusaince of ourselves either, mind you), and they were very patient with us regarding getting my friend's bags/belongings moved from in front of their place while we were trying to book a hotel room for the night and order a Lyft/Uber ride from there to the hotel, but running into complications at every turn it seemed. All in all this McDonald's definitely made sure they made a positive impression in my mind and stand out from any other McDonald's I've been to in a while if not in my...
Read moreThe new drive thru policies at most McDonalds I have visited, particularly the one on PCH in Seal Beach, are incredibly inconvenient and irritating. I have been the only person in line a number of times and have been forced to pull thru and park in order for them to beat their "service clock". Being a person whose family runs franchise restaurants, you're not fooling anyone and you're quality is slipping. The point of driving thru is for fast, convenient service. Menu items should be available within a reasonable amount of time without having to park, wait for an attendant and then either have them run back in for what they missed, or I have to get out of my car because they run away the second they deposit the bag in my hand. I've also driven away with the wrong food and burnt fries because I wasnt given an opportunity to look at my order and ot was misplacked. The menu items are what they are. Food is typically pretty consistent, albeit not terribly healthy. But obviously, I'm not here for health food I'm here for convenience. The new drive thru policy robs me of the convenience and almost drives me to use the app. The necessity of human employees is dwindling with moves like this. Not for the better in my opinion. I'll probably never stop eating at mcdonalds entirely but I will say this does make me less inclined to hop in your drive thru line than the taco...
Read moreThis is for my wife. She visited this McDonalds and put in an order on the app. When she chose the curbside pickup, she parked and waited a long time before a crew member finally came out. The member, however, asked if she placed an order already, which my wife did (otherwise, why would she pull up to the pickup??). She told the lady that she did place an order and even AFTER telling her what she wanted, they gave her her double plain cheeseburger, fries, and ANOTHER double cheeseburger INSTEAD of the 4 pc chicken nuggets that she wanted!! Because of the time it took to not only check and see if my wife ordered something but to also give her the WRONG item, my wife didn't want to bother telling her anyway and just drove out of there with the wrong item. It was too flustering and frustrating to the point where she didn't want to wait another long time for the crew member to bring her her...
