Some coworkers were singing the praised of this restaurant apparently they have no idea what good food should taste like. You can not call and place an order so we arrived shortly after they opened and they did not have the chicken or porkchops to go will the stated breakfast meal prepared. We left came back and some church group came in and order up all the food....what type of foolishness is this. So we left the MLK location and went to the location on Central Avenue since they stated they had prepared food when we called. Breakfast ends at 10:30 a.m. not sure how you have run out of lunch/dinner food by 11:00 a.m. Wanted NC BBQ as listed on the menu and the staff acted as if that item is not on the menu, no coleslaw but we worked around it. Food finally arrived at the office and disappointment......Soul Food is suppose to come the to soul, not the devil as this food indicated. The ribs were not smoked they may have been baked but they had NO flavor and was dry, the cabbage was boiled until there was NO life or flavor and taste like water, the yams were passable but did not come from Big Mamas Kitchen, the potato salad was runny, the black eye peas were lacking. The only item that received a passing grade were the friend pork chops. I am sure unmelanated folks could have done better. I will...
Read moreLittle bit earlier today was my first time there. Me & my husband purchased two dinner an our 3 year old had 4 wings I order a small Mac & cheese for us to much on, we also got 3 bottled sodas our total was $38.00 to me that’s basically 40 bucks which is cool as long as your food is on point. The food was average an the meats seasoned as cheaply as possible. The place is ran down...even down to the front door slamming, I almost resembles the sound of a door being rammed. We aren’t from out this way we were re-wiring a basement for someone flipping a house in the area, unfortunately we had to dine in. While freezing to death inside while eating we observed an employee leaving the rest room. My husband asked them for the key to the restroom an they stated that it was out of order. My husband is Spanish & I’m black. This is completely unacceptable why not post a sign on the bathroom door stating that it’s for employees only? Why lie? Restaurants like this are the reason why Blk business are often given a bad rep. I read a review saying they need a handyman no they need a renovation.....If the front looks like that I can only imagine what the parts you can’t...
Read moreKeith and Sons is the place to go when you want good comfort food and plenty of it. Although I've had both breakfast and dinner here, breakfast is the star. If you're a bacon lover you will never be disappointed at Keith's. I've never seen them count out the pieces of bacon and a regular serving here is like a triple serving or more at any other breakfast place. You will never have to request extra bacon on anything. The $10 big breakfast platter will easily serve 2-3 people and a pancake breakfast, with its 3 giant pancakes is great for serving multiple children. All your standard breakfast fare is available as well as chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, fish and grits, and giant omelets. Dinner items consist of many soul food classics like fried chicken, turkey wings, meatloaf, beef ribs, mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, greens and cabbage, etc.. They've recently refreshed the interior paint so it feels like less of a hood spot but it's still not a place you go for the decor and ambiance. With only a few small tables, the idea is to get your food and go on to your destination: preferably somewhere with a comfortable couch or bed for the...
