This seems like a nice place to hang out with friends, get a coffee, or read. But the food and drink is more expensive than other comparable coffee shops, and I personally didn't enjoy working here on my laptop. (Choose your seats wisely)
Almond croissant was delicious but it is $6.57 including tax. 8oz tea is imo outrageously expensive at $4.20. It's a tea bag and hot water. Maybe the coffee is more worth it. They also don't clearly show pastry prices which I find shady.
Vibes are okay - quirky and industrial with personality, and they were playing what I think was Egyptian dance music or something like it. I wasn't a big fan of the interior layout, it feels a little narrow and cramped. The outdoor patio is gorgeous though and I'd probably hang out there during warmer months.
For working remotely: The Wi-Fi was fast (160mbps) but not the most reliable. Someone was able to take a Teams video call, but for some reason I could only access Slack or social media until I saw someone leave. DNS resolution issue or whatever. That was annoying but I'm glad it magically resolved itself after 20 mins. Yes there are outlets A lot of seating is designed to be so your back is against the window. If you're working on a laptop, it's difficult to see anything on it unless you crank up the brightness. Very small complaint but I'd prefer regular bar seating facing the windows. The bench seats with green padding are rock hard. I sat for maybe 1 hour and my tailbone felt bruised afterwards which has never happened to me. Other seating options were limited on a Friday afternoon, unfortunately.
Service was fine I guess. My table was dirty and they didn't seem to wipe down the tables between guests. You need to bus your own table as well, so seeing the tip options by dollar amount instead of % is kinda š¤Ø
If you have $ to spend and you like the darker industrial vibes of this place, or just want some very good (though expensive) croissants, this is a nice spot. But I think there are better coffee...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI usually donāt write bad reviews because I know how harsh it can be to small businesses that can improve. But I had to make a specific comment about the girl in pink clothes who took my order today.
I ordered an Irish coffee, which states it contains freshly brewed coffee, whiskey, and a whipped cream. Apparantly they use a whip creamer to instantly make one. During the transition time, she was lazy.
She said they are out of whipped cream. A fat lie. 15 minutes later, the next barista used whipped cream on a drink. Thatās okay. After she made the coffee? I sat on the bar and leaves it literally off the edge, mug handle facing her way, no eye contact, clanking the cup with an attitude.
Iām from an F&B industry and people like her seriously needs to be reconsidered. It also seems like she has been working there for a while too. It sucks everyone whos working with her needs to be judged because of her irresponsibilities.
I will file a complaint inquiring several reviews that are also mentioned here. I really hope they stick to the mission of bringing people together in a safe space for both employee and customers.
Other than the long opening hours, I donāt see the merit of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreArmistice Coffee shops have always been my favorite coffee place to go. The Eastlake and Roosevelt branches have outstanding vibe and atmosphere, making them a perfect place for studying, working, and hanging out with friends.
Recently, there have been some downsides and disappointed points about this cafe that I believe is fair to mention, so maybe the owner and people in charge would address in the future:
1- The price of their coffees are insanely expensive, even for Seattle! Recently (April 2025) my wife and I bought a 12oz latte and a 12oz Americano and we ended up paying $16 (including $3 tip which is almost 18%). I believe this amount of money would have been reasonable for 3 cups of 12oz coffee.
2- The quality of the pastries and sandwiches are bare minimum. I don't know from which company they purchased their pastries but its very normal (which might be justified since there are very few good pastry shops in Seattle)
All in all, I love their locations, the fact that they roast their own coffees, and also the name 'Armistice' is very beautiful. I hope with just a few adjustments and considerations, they improve the potential downsides...
