Enjoyed the visit here, during a cold evening; it was chilly inside... I bet this place is awesome during warmer days with the garage doors open or able to use outdoor seating... it is across the street from Alki Beach! I had the Blue Shroom, fantastic! My son had the Code Blue, he ate the whole thing, barely! With onion rings that were crispy, yummy homemade delicious. Sad note for me about the beer here... I don't like IPA or any overly hoppy beer. Thankfully they let me sample the porter and a few others because they were not palatable for me. Chose the one closest to a lager, but it gave me bitter beer face! If you like those types, they have them!! Next time, I will opt for tea... because other than for beer, I will return.

Pic is a view from across the street of this awesome place!! I was too eager to dig into my burger to take a pic of it. Got the Code Blue burger, added a fried egg, and I was in heaven!! And I was eating, thinking about posting this review and looked at my garlic/parmesan fries, and thought "Well, look at that, the do like every other place in Seattle, and put all the gar/par on top in the center, and then you just have fries." OH how wrong I was!! These are the best garlic/parmesan fries, in all of Seattle and beyond! It was crowded due to the beautiful day today, and we waited quite a while, but TOTALLY worth it. We hit the Wednesday Special, but I'll be back any day of the week for this place. YUMMY!!

We showed up to a line outside and we’re told “We are prepping and will open in 15 mins”. There was a sign stating they are closed to restock from 3:45-4:15. We waited 30 minutes and then an employee came outside to say 15-20 more mins. We waited 40 more mins, at which point 2 employees or friends of employees came in and out with burgers. My husband went to ask how much longer and they said “another 10 minutes”. It was fine to close for re-stocking but please communicate to people and don’t have your friends/employees walk out with burgers in hand. Just blatant disregard for others time. It is now 5:17 and they are still not open with zero communication to the people waiting.

So-So Burgers at Best Burger You've Ever Had Prices

Blue Moon Burgers isn't awful by any means, it's just not good enough to warrant the premium price. Burger and fries will run you at least $10 per person.

I understand that beach property isn't cheap, but it would be nice to get a slightly bigger and better burger for what you're expected to pay.

The fries are some of the best you can get in Seattle (proper hand-cut fries that are perfectly crispy and seasoned), the onion rings are quite good (crispy, seasoned batter with soft onions), and they make old-fashioned shakes, which is nice. The sides just seem overly expensive to me, considering the portion. Sometimes you can overlook an expensive burger if the fries are plentiful.

The sauces are decent enough. Blue Moon Sauce is basically mayo and BBQ sauce. And that's the key to these burgers: you have to add so much sauce to them due to the lack of fat and seasoning when it comes to the patties.

The burger is just okay. I tried the Classic; which is basically a McDonald's hamburger (without onions for some reason). It's basically cooked well-done (they say they cook medium-well; I asked for medium and it was all grey) and the patty doesn't appear to be seasoned (they advertise that it's seasoned, so perhaps it's just a light dusting). They also appear to use a rather lean ground (my preference is 80/20 for burgers) and there's not much variety in the sandwiches offered on the menu, so I would recommend building your own.

I have to give them credit for the pickles and the bun. That's some high quality stuff. Places like Red Mill (so over-hyped) use Franz mush buns, but Blue Moon's brioche buns hit the mark. I just hoped for a bigger, messier burger, overall.

The view is great and there is a lot of nice outdoor seating. The employees seemed pleasant, and I have no complaints in that regard.

It's just hard for me to be impressed by burgers in a post-2007-era Lunchbox Lab burger.

If the prices were a bit more reasonable, I would go back on occasion. As it stands, I'd just recommend that you try it and see...

Before tonight, I would have given it 5 stars, but I was so annoyed with my experience tonight!

My husband and I come here with our toddler once every few weeks because they have good food, amazing onion rings, and a great view. We spend roughly $50 or so on a meal and drinks for two adults and one child. I always order the grilled cheese for my toddler. I’ve never had a problem before tonight and it reminds me of how much I loved grilled cheese when we ate out when I was a child. Tonight, it arrived very very burnt. I was already bothered that they let that leave their kitchen, but the high school aged table runner tried to make me feel like it was my problem, I was completely exasperating, and I should just take it. I will absolutely not serve burnt food to my toddler nor would he agree to eat it. This young kid acted like I asked to send back a $50 steak that I had already consumed. It was a $3.99 grilled cheese that maybe costs a $1 and 4 minutes to make and they were the ones who messed it up! I was livid to say the least and I asked that they get us a new one, and he told me that “he’d have to talk to the kitchen.” Ummmm? Suuuurrre. The new one arrived fine but had obviously made out of frustration as was haphazardly thrown together and delivered (again- a $4 sandwich requires this much drama?!?) I worked in fine dining for 8 years in Minneapolis and maybe it’s a Midwest thing, but we bent over backwards to make our customers happy. I would expect the item to at least be corrected at a cheap fast-food restaurant, but to be made to feel like I was doing them a huge disservice and I should take what I get at an establishment that has a tip line on its receipt before I have even received my food is utterly preposterous. I hope management will teach its employees about BASIC customer service.

This experience aside, we’ve always enjoyed the OTHER employees and our food here. We’ll come back for the burgers... just hope they get some training in...

We had a great experience here last week and decided to go back again yesterday. Unfortunately, this experience was nowhere as good.

We called to place an order for pickup at 8 PM, the last slot on Blue Moon Burgers website for order was 7:30, and we were wondering if we can place one for 8. The lady that responded asked we call again in 3-4 minutes as she was busy. We called again in 4 minutes, 5,6,10 minutes and left a voicemail, no response. We called again in 20 minutes, someone else picked up and told us we can either order through GrubHub or on the phone for an 8 PM.

We tried using GrubHub but the last slot to place an order was also 7:30. So we called again and placed an order for three burgers and two fries. One of the burgers was supposed to be the basic build your own chicken burger. As we were placing the order through the phone, we found something on the menu that we preferred over the basic build your own, and asked to change to Bayou burger.

The lady said we can't change the order anymore. And that the only option we have is to either come in earlier and she'll help us change it, or place another order in addition to our existing order. We asked again to change it, since we haven't picked it up, or paid, and it's still within the same 2 minute conversation, she responded saying she can't change it, and that we can place another order. She also said she has other customers to attend to and can't talk any longer.

We decided to go early at 7:40 and change the order in person. Our order was already cooked and waiting for us (although it was placed for an 8 PM pickup, the whole reason we called in the store). We decided to just let it go and try to enjoy whatever we got. We pick it up, go home to eat to find that the sandwich was a beef sandwich and not a chicken one.

Would prefer if the restaurant can pick someone more attentive and patient on the phone, and also get our order right...
