Let me start by saying—first impressions aren’t always the final word. My first visit to Dosi Korran BBQ was, unfortunately, far from what I had hoped. I walked in with high expectations, excited to try a place that so many had recommended. But from the moment I was seated, the experience began to unravel.
The server that day seemed disinterested, rushed, and inattentive. I tried to be understanding—everyone has off days—but it was hard to ignore the lack of warmth and attention. My questions about the menu were met with curt responses, and the overall vibe felt more like I was inconveniencing them than being welcomed as a guest. The food, while decent, couldn’t quite shine through the cloud of poor service. I left feeling disappointed and unsure if I’d ever return.
But something told me to give it another shot. Maybe it was a bad day. Maybe I’d just caught the wrong shift. So I decided to come back on a different day, hoping for a better experience—and I’m so glad I did.
This time, everything felt different from the moment I walked in. The server greeted me with a genuine smile, took the time to explain the menu, and even offered recommendations based on my preferences. The energy was warm, attentive, and inviting. It was the kind of service that makes you feel seen and valued—not just another table to turn.
The food? Absolutely delicious. But this time, I could truly enjoy it. The pacing was perfect, the grill was handled with care, and the server checked in just enough to make sure everything was going smoothly. It was the kind of dining experience that makes you want to linger, savor, and come back again.
I’m incredibly grateful for that second visit. It reminded me that one bad experience doesn’t define a place—and that sometimes, giving something a second chance can lead to a truly memorable moment. My second experience didn’t just redeem the first—it completely exceeded it. It was everything I had hoped for and more.
So to the team at Dosi Korran BBQ—thank you. Thank you for showing me what great service looks like. Thank you for turning a doubtful guest into a loyal one. I’ll definitely be back, and this time, I’ll be...

Rating: 5/5 Stars
My partner and I had the pleasure of visiting Do Si Korean BBQ in Alki this past Saturday during their soft opening, and we couldn't have been more impressed. Despite being early in their opening phase, the restaurant ran incredibly smoothly with service that exceeded our expectations and food that absolutely delivered.
The Space
Do Si occupies a small but wonderfully cozy venue that manages to feel intimate without being cramped. With seating both downstairs and upstairs, there's a nice flow to the space. The real star, however, is the location—situated right on the beach with stunning water views. It's the perfect backdrop for a relaxed meal, especially after we'd just come from a long walk along the water.
The Food
Coming from Northern Virginia where we've had plenty of Korean BBQ, we can confidently say Do Si ranks at the top tier. Everything we tried was exceptional. The Korean appetizers deserve special mention—they were absolutely outstanding and set the tone perfectly for the meal. The main courses were equally impressive, with high-quality meat and expertly prepared sides.
The meal wrapped up on a sweet note with a complimentary dessert, which was a lovely touch and a nice way to end the experience.
The Price
Yes, Do Si is on the pricier side, but the quality of the food and service more than justifies the cost. This isn't your average Korean BBQ spot—it's a premium experience worth the investment.
Final Thoughts
Whether you're a longtime Korean BBQ enthusiast or looking to try something special, Do Si is absolutely worth a visit. We'll definitely be back, and we'd highly recommend...
Read moreSo excited to have Do Si in seattle because I would drive out to their Kent location often.
I had made a reservation online (2 people) for 7:30pm on a Friday Night. We got there early to find street parking and to checkin with the host. There was a ton of people waiting and many customers were confused on where the line started and if we needed to check in with the host. At 7:20pm - tried to check in with host and were told that they would call out to us when it was our turn.
It would yave been nice to have signage that says what to do and have an organized line going a specific direction. (One side reservation and another for walkin).
At 8:00pm we were finally seated. We originally asked to be seated on the 2nd floor, but they prob felt bad for us waiting so we got seated for whatever was available on the first floor. The host was very apologetic for the wait.
Around 8:10pm, a server came by to take out order and our order came out around 8:21pm.
I really enjoy their banchan and their meats are decent quality. I would say that their meats are sometimes too thinly sliced and so be mindful of how you are cooking them.
The servers came by frequently despite the busy resturant to ask how we were doing. But I would suggest order as much as you think youll need the first time around.
Lastly, we were able to get ice cream after the meal and was greeted goodbye when we exited.
I definitelly would go again but would most likely choose a less busy time. I hope throughout the weeks, Do Si can improve their waittimes. Especially for those who reserved. And a more organized line. However, I think the staff did their best during their opening week!
