I love finding mom and pop restaurants especially when travelling. This one is for sure one of those! I really loved this place as it is literally full Korean style cuisine, and on top of that the bonus is seeing that the son is taking the orders and the mom is in the kitchen making the food.
Me and my friends wanted something close within the area he lives and I wasn't expecting such a fun little authentic korean place to be in the middle of no where Seattle where it is all residences only. The good thing is that everything is perfectly spicy and I was extremely satisfied. It wasn't that sweet spicy or that white people just colour spicy, it was that HOT HOT.
My friend ordered that Tofu Sundubu, and it was BOILING hot! I can see it came right off the stove still boiling and the delicious tofu and the spice still mingling and cooking in that little black pot. I love that they cooked it extremely fresh and it was right there off the stove. It truly gives me that homey vibe. That is a win for me. That night I got a bibimbap, and I was just craving for some Korean Fried Chicken as well. Their BBP was delicious and had 3 basic ban chan with it. The Potatoes, Kimchi and Daikon, it was perfect for me to just mix in the BBP and on top of that they brought out a whole squirt bottle of gochujang and I was so happy. I could mix it to my taste and I can make it extremely custom to myself.
The great thing was that I could put the KFC on top of my BBP and just eat it all together! I really like their breading mix on the KFC. It was so special, it was like a mix of some type of deep fried chips and then mixed with the bredding and with the gochujang. It was delicious and it wasn't that expensive either for the rest of the night.
It was worth for that KFC and that Tofu Sundubu. I want to come back here during the winter times just to get a good tofu soup and that KFC~! Very cute restaurant and I do recommend this place to visit if you are...
Read moreUpdated Review 5 stars: On Nov.1st I had the bulgogi chef box was perfect! It was so nice it came with amazing kimchi and everything was delicious. Would love to buy a side of banchan with sprouts, if they add that some day. The guy at the counter was very nice and generous. Anyway, I wanted to also comment that I saw some angsty reviewer talk about being met with racism (Which seemed off), so I had to look at their profile, and you can see they seem to like to call other businesses "racist." Must be their thing? I reported the review as harassment, because all I've seen from Miso's staff is the utmost friendly nature to all their customers.
Previous review: Glad this place opened up in the area. I ordered the Bibimbap to go. The bulgogi beef was outstanding, lots of flavor and moist. The rice was cooked well. I just wish that the veggies were slightly pickled, as I think that they were just stir-fried or steamed and did not have any flavor. I was initially attracted to the pictures of sprouts, kimchi and banchan, which I thought was going to be served with it (only came with Gochujang sauce). Korean prepared sprouts are usually my fave! But it didn't, so maybe I had to order that separately? I will have to go again to try more things on the menu and maybe update my review. A $20 dinner is quite expensive for this neighborhood but I am glad that I went. If you are looking for a new healthier option in the area, I'd...
Read moreThere was a TikToker that spoke about the kind of reviews this restaurant is receiving. He went through a list of restaurants that serve authentic cuisine versus popular chains. The restaurants with the best food always have low ratings based on service. This isn’t some American chain where servers rely on tips. Places like this serve amazing authentic food and leave you alone. To the commenter that spoke about the market next door — you didn’t even review the right restaurant as there is no market next door and Sea Mart can’t even be mistaken for one. It’s a corner store at best. Lovely! owners too. Much nicer than the previous one.
I do agree with another reviewer who mentioned it is really expensive for this neighborhood. It absolutely is, and that was one of my biggest concerns when they opened. However, the value and quality of the food is spot on with the price point. It’s more of a treat for me, but one I look forward to! I see this older Korean lady in there often, and I’m pretty confident these are her recipes. Everything I’ve tried is absolutely amazing.
Korean food is my fav and while they don’t have a huge menu, I never run out of choices! I frequent a lot of Korean restaurants and the ones I’ve been to that have larger menus serve a lot of nontraditional dishes. Most Korean restaurants have comparable menus when it comes to...
