Pasteleria Y Panaderia La Ideal — Restaurant in Seattle

I hear this bakery has really good tres leches cake based on it’s Google reviews. Unfortunately I won’t be a customer.

I called in today at 1:50 pm and the man who picked up the phone was a complete jerk. I asked if they do birthday cakes and he blatantly responded saying no. I then asked if they have a tres leches cake and he said ‘yes’ and then hung up on me. He didn’t even give me the chance to complete my sentence. I was surprised with his attitude. So I called back and asked to speak to a manager. He said that she is not available. So I asked him once again if I can order a tres leches cake and he said “we don’t take orders because we can’t trust people. If you want you can come pick it up now don’t waste my time because we are very busy.” I literary wish this call was recorded for review. What kind of manager would hire such a disgruntled employee on the job? I’m surprised to see that there are no reviews about this person here. I’m definitely going to avoid this place at all costs and will not recommend a friend or family member to step foot in this shop.

The people you hire represent the face of your business. If you hire the wrong guy, your business is about to face some real trouble no matter how good your products are....

I'm not in South Park very often, but when I was in the area on a Friday night, I decided to pay a visit to Pasteleria y Panaderia La Ideal. Notice that I mentioned that it was night when I visited. This is one of the few bakeries that I have visited that is open until 10pm. They were still putting out fresh pastries at 8pm when I visited. They have a pretty large selection of pastries to choose from. They have cakes, tres leches, cookies, breads, buns, flan, etc. I ended up getting a churro, the molasa(?) which is basically Irish soda bread, a slice of cake with pink frosting and sprinkles, and a savory bread with no filling. The molasa was hot and fresh out of the oven so it was lightly sweet and soft. The slice of cake was delicious as well. The churro was my favorite because it was crisp and also had dulce de leche in it. Actually the bakery was so great that I went out of my way to return the next day. They had more to choose from and I got two more churros, another molasa, a flaky pastry filled with pineapple filling, and a chocolate cupcake with raspberry filling. I normally don't EVER write reviews on anything, but, this one today, I just had to. We came in Friday April 16th to Pre-order a birthday cake for my daughter for April 19th. I specifically asked for 3 milks cake color light blue. They called me April 18th to tell me that if my cake was scheduled for that day or for when because it was ready. I said no, it's for April 19th Monday. Monday comes and when I get to the cake shop the color of the cake is not light blue, it is PINK, yes pink. I let the lady know that I had specifically requested a light blue cake she let me know that the baker was not there and that the request they received was that the cake should be pink. I gave her my receipt to prove that my request was not pink she than again let's me know that unfortunately the baker is not there meaning she can't do anything. We later cut the cake and it was very very dry. It's just unfortunate that these things even happen and nothing is done. My daughter was disappointed all she wanted was a light blue cake...
