Ordered the Panang beef curry, four star, and what arrived... was not a Panang curry.

The liquid was a dark brown instead of a rich, coconut milky reddish brown, and the dish looked and tasted more like a spicy beef stew than a curry. The carrots and broccoli, an odd choice of vegetables for this curry, were not steamed long enough - it was like eating raw vegetables, and I finally fished them all out. The spice was also too heavy handed; the heat level was fine, but the curry's lemongrass and galangal flavors were overpowered. I think they may have left out the coconut milk, or definitely did not put enough in.

The sole reason for this review not being one star is that the beef was velvety soft. If the curry sauce hadn't been so shockingly bad, I would have no qualms about trying another dish with the beef.

Panang beef curry is one of my favorite Thai dishes, and even the most mediocre, watery curries I've had pale in comparison to this.

Other issues:

Plating was poor. I was given a huge scoop of rice on a small, flat plate; the rice was almost overflowing the plate, making it difficult to spoon without making a mess. Definitely should have been put in a bowl.

Too cold & blustery. Air conditioner was blasting so hard my napkin kept blowing away. It's 66° outside at the beginning of May.

Food Timing. There was one other table with 3 people, and they already had food when I walked in. Waited about 15 minutes for the spring roll appetizer, which arrived 2 minutes before the main dish. I've made spring rolls, they don't take 15 minutes to cook.

The overall experience was pretty bad. I'd been here a few years before, had a lackluster plate of the holy basil, and thought maybe it was just...

We love the food at Pop Pop. We eat here weekly and sometimes more than once a week. I am continually frustrated at the lack of consistency with portion sizes.

I order the exact same entree every time because it is so good (spicy holy basil). Until recently, I was able to get 2 full meals from this entree (not including the rice because I don't eat the rice) plus share with my young child. The box it is served in was completely filled.

The last few times I've ordered the box would be about 3/4 full. I never complained.

Today is the icing on the cake though. The order tonight barely filled half of the box. If it had been put in the small rice-sized box it probably would not have filled that.

Again, we love the food however I am disappointed in the inconsistencies with the portion size. If the portion is being reduced, adjust the cost accordingly and make note on the website so more than 1...

This place is awesome! I love eating Thai food and this place does not disappoint. It is next Jimmy John's near LA Fitness so it's a little hard to fine. The staff here is incredibly friendly and obviously is very knowledgeable about the food on the menu. Per recommendation of our server, I decided to get the braised pork leg and spring rolls. The spring rolls were very good! But the braised pork leg is definitely one of their best dishes.

I came back here with my wife to try the grilled chicken with sticky rice and she tried the spicy holy basil with minced pork. The grilled chicken was very good as well, although I find that the quantity of food given is on the smaller end. My wife LOVES the spicy holy basil with minced pork. Perfect combination of spices and is just...

When we first got there, seemed like a small place, but bigger than we thought. The place was simple but nice. There was a very good selection. We were surprised that they had khao mun gai (grilled chicken with rice cooked in chicken broth and ginger/garlic sauce and chicken broth on the side). Very few Thai places offer this as a standard dish, Bai Tong had it available on special order. The chicken was very well done, rice had good 'chicken broth' flavor, and the sauce was really good. Overall, the first was really good dish, not as good as Nong's on Portland, but the best (only?) around the Seattle area. The phad sei iew (soy sauce, pan fried noodles) with chicken was really good. Typical condiments upon request. Will come back.
