The Dray — Restaurant in Seattle

Went to watch a soccer game on a weekday at noon. Started with a latte, delicious and hot, but not too hot, and a breakfast bagel with bacon jam. Yes, bacon jam. A great choice. Progressed to a few beers, of which they have a strong local selection. Had an XPA that reminded me of Half Acre's Daisy Cutter Pale Ale. As for service, bartendress asked if i'd like to hear the commentary on the game. I chose to continue listening to the great music from her phone. I finished my latte and immediately found a beer in front of me. I finished that one and what's this!? Another beer! Atmosphere, a little hard to judge with only 3-4 patrons while I was there, but music was the perfect volume to chat and hear my phone ding on medium volume. I was able to watch the game in peace for a while, could have conversed if I wanted. Never felt rushed. Actually loved the abundant wood. A few locals came in and went while stopping to chat for a spell, which is always nice to see in a local bar. I'll definitely stop by again before I head back to Chicago. Perhaps an evening...

The Dray is a lovely, cozy neighborhood pub. My experiences here have all been really positive. They serve a nice variety of beers and ciders on tap. No hard liquor however. The Dray also hosts a tiny kitchen. The menu is fairly limited and I wouldn't necessarily come here for a full meal. For beer munchies however the little pizzas and pretzels are a nice addition. If a large group of people wanders in The Dray can go from cozy to crowded pretty quickly.. If you're in the neighborhood swing by and enjoy a pint. You won't regret it. This will be more about the service as opposed to the bar and food but I called to place an order and got told to call back in 15 minutes when they were less busy or just come in. I dont know who this lady is but in her world she is so busy and so important that she does not need to know how to work at a RESTAURANT and TAKE A FOOD ORDER, So if you see a overly tan hand bag behind the bar be expected to wait for what ever you want when she is ready. I understand it can get busy and if it is maybe the management should put more people on staff or more competent people on staff. Needless to say I did not call back or go there in 15 minutes.
