Tin Hat is a bar on the strip of restaurants on 65th right around the corner from Goodwill in Ballard/Greenwood. Parking here is usually ok on the street but some nights or weekends you may have to walk a block or two. Inside it's a very divey spot, with low lighting, some pinball machines and obscure things all over the walls and ceilings. The staff here are always amazing, so friendly and always joking around. They have a kitchen that serves food and their menu isn't too big, but the food is very good - especially their burgers. Price per portion is also great, so you gotta try the Tin Hat burger. A solid place for a drink with friends and one of the better ones in the neighborhood.

Best dive bar around. From Taco Tuesday (.69 tacos and $4 micro pints) to all day happy hour on Sundays (including free pinball), this place rocks. Adored with old band posters and nostalgic TV memorabilia, the dim lit bar is a classic. Food is exceptionally good including the burgers, fried chicken sandwich and best tater tots ever. Not to mention the amazing fresh squeezed juice for cocktails. Bartenders, servers and cooks are all great. Even furry guests welcome! Now please don't follow this advice... we want to keep this place a secret ;)

I hesitate to share this gem because it’s my go-to spot every Tuesday for Taco Tuesday. I’ve been a regular for years, enjoying their unbeatable $0.99 hard tacos. Each one is a delight, and the beer prices are just as reasonable. I can leave with a full, happy belly and a beer for under $10—unheard of! They offer daily specials, and I believe spaghetti nights are on Wednesdays. This neighborhood bar is fantastic, with friendly wait staff who truly know their regulars. Highly recommended!

As a first timer, if I can give it a zero out of five, that would be more accurate. First of all on a Saturday evening when it’s nice out, you would think it would have a crowd inside, but no, there were only two other customers. Also, they don’t have a cook on Saturday nights?? That’s very odd don’t you think? But most importantly, I ordered the simplest drink: Vodka pineapple in a short glass. I asked if he had pineapple he said yes. He then yelled for us to come get our drinks from the bar of which my partner went up and grab the drinks brought it back and my drink was vodka and something else. After taking a test, it was soda, water and vodka. I drink it because I’m not typically the person that wants to make a scene. However, when we got up to pay and leave Which by the way, a small beer and a small vodka, whatever drink was $20… I asked him ā€œdid you not have pineapple?ā€ And his response was ā€œ Oh no, we were outā€ I then said ā€œ This is not a drink I would’ve orderedā€ And all he said was ā€œoh… sorryā€ The fact that he didn’t come over and tell me they were out of pineapple juice before making me another drink. I would not have ordered the drink. He gave me in the first place I really don’t like soda water, and imagine soda water with vodka… Absolutely no flavor. I have never in my life just pouring a completely different drink because they were out of some thing he could’ve come over and shared with me that they were out of pineapple juice… Is it there? He was frustrated that we didn’t order anything else and the fact that he had to walk over to our table versus us coming up to the bar.

I would love management would contact me about this employee. I will not be returning, but I feel like this is something that he needs to...

So, the decor and "dive bar" ambience is fantastic. The service is very fast and the wait staff are friendly and good at what they do.

But the food here is absolutely incredible. The best tater tots I've ever had in my life, and I've deep fried them at home before. These are so good, lightly seasoned with something more savory than salt (I wanna say thyme but I feel like that's wrong) and properly double fried so they are even crispy the next day. They are also super cheap for their quality and quantity, $6 and easily enough for two people.

Taco Tuesday has really good tacos, with lots of protein in them, for 69 cents per. Again, very, VERY cheap for how good they are and how much food you get.

Yeah highly recommend this place. Only real downside is limited menu, but the food they do have is so good and so cheap and is made so fast that it just doesn't matter. Place...
