This is an edit. First time just left a one star review without writing a comment because I truly did not want to relive the uncomfortable experience I had with the owner/bartender. However after seeing my review, which was just a star with no words at all, the owner/bartender writes disparaging comments and calls me out publicly on here by my full name. He spent time hunting down my name for this reason. I am a victim of past violence and this is bulling and is completely unbecoming of the owner of a business.
Here is what the owner responded to my simple star: âlol, Jennifer E Tricarico, you're permanently 86'd from The Whit's End for accosting employees, only the 3rd person to earn such a badge at Whit's, good luck!â
What prompted this? I asked if I could give the bar dog water. Yup that is it. He then treated me like I was stupid for suggesting a dog should have water then proceeded to rub my arm. I called him out on touching me by simply saying âMay I give you some feedback? Just so you know that made me uncomfortable.â He then went off on me and rambled about how everyone loves him, he has 4.5 reviews and for me to leave. I waited by the door for my boyfriend who was finishing up with the lovely cheesesteak guys and left. Not sure where the âaccosted employeesâ came from since he touched me and I responded with constructive feedback. Not loud, no swearing, just please donât touch me. Which any caring human being would have responded with âsorry I donât mean to make you uncomfortableâ, or something along those lines.
I have owned a house on Phinney for well over a decade. I am not drunk barfly who got 86âd. I am a working professional who stopped in to pick up a sandwich. I should be able to do that without being rubbed by a man I donât know. I should also be able to post an opinion in opposition of this business owner (remember it was just a star) without being disparaged and bullied.
This retaliation made me read the other comments. Pushing down drunk woman. Heâs a gemâŚ.
One last word: the cheese steaks are amazing. Just beware of paws behind the bar. Better yet get the sandwich and go anywhere else to enjoy it.
Second edit. After talking to my boyfriend I realized the only way he would know my full name is by going through the credit card receipts. My profile only has my initials. My full name including middle initial is on nothing other than my credit card for which we paid with. I believe posting my full name would equate to stalking and bullying....

He came to the door and yelled âdid you really think we were open? Whatâs wrong with you?â Well the door was propped open and the lights in the window are on, so yea thought you were open. Havenât been before and most definitely will not be back. Thereâs plenty of bars in the area with much better staff.
Edit: UPDATE My recommendation is to change your google hours as it says you were open at the time. Iâm going to let his response speak for...
Read moreThe owner, whose name I was told was Chad, shoved an intoxicated woman to the ground while I was trying to help her outside. She was having an episode, threw water, and was upset, so he put his hands on her and repeatedly shoved her to the ground while yelling in her face. I didn't know the woman, but his treatment of her was completely unacceptable. The woman working the bar, Devin, was understanding about having water thrown in her direction. She even tried to help me keep Chad from shoving the woman any more than he already had. Devin understood that the woman was triggered, and helped me get her home safely. All in all, it was a very...
