Being someone who just moved into the neighborhood a few weeks back and looking for my go to coffee shop, I was so excited to see that this wonderful place is almost across the street, but I won’t be back. I was pleased to see that many reviews explained it being dog friendly. As someone who has a PSA, ADA protected, my service animal goes everywhere with me, even though I still gravitate towards dog friendly places. After several weeks of stopping in for literally just an espresso, then on my way after 3-5 mins, yesterday, I was doing my same routine. After about 4-5 mins finishing my espresso, I was met by one of the employees asking if I was finished with my for here cup seconds after having the last sip. “Are you finished with that?” “Oh, yes, thank you so much.” “We don’t mind if dogs come in and out, but try to not stay too long.”
Literally, are you kidding me? Never asked if she was a service animal, assumed a situation that wasn’t correct, and was just rude on top of it. I felt like I was basically asked to leave immediately. I am loyal to local businesses and a loyal regular customer to a fault. Well, needless to say, the worse welcome to a new neighborhood I have ever felt in Seattle and how do you have a jar of dog treats within your business, but then ask someone to leave with an ADA protected service animal? I have so many questions, but luckily, I have many other coffee shops to enjoy within the Phinney neighborhood. YOU REALLY MESSED UP....

The green tea and white choc muffin was light, moist and fluffy with strong tea flavors coming through. The atmosphere is really nice. Can see why locals come here a lot. Staff is real friendly. Furnishing could do with some work because it looks a little messy in the back. If you come early in the morning to go to the zoo, it's about a two minute walk away from the Bear Parking lot. They use an iPad esque payment system which accepts card and cash. On the front door there is a sign that encourages services dogs only, but it seems like if you are a regular and your dogs behave well enough they are allowed to walk in for a bit. Passed the threshold of the entry way you are treated with the vibrant yellow that coats the front section. Glassed off piles of freshly baked pastries next to a miniature open fridge with sandwiches and burritos tease the Interest. Next to the cashier you here the coffee machine busily pumping out...
Read moreI'm pretty disappointed at this Cafe/bakery.i Google bakeries near Green lake and this place looked pretty good on their website. It's my first time here and looking at the website I thought it's a full fledge bakery. I was looking for some savory pastries for lunch before walking the path at Green lake. At around mid day I walked in and saw only 1 small tray of pastries, mostly sweets. The lady behind the counter pointed to a single savory pastry and said that's the only thing she's left. So I thought I'd give it a try. It's a puff pastry with a very small amount of super bland sausage inside, almost tasteless. My husband had to order a breakfast sandwich, with a sausage patty and egg. He said the sausage was super bland also. Not good for over$7. The place was clean but rather bare, with a bunch of people sitting in front of their laptops. It's pretty deceiving to call this place a bakery. Not coming...
