Chinese Gourmet Garden — Restaurant in Selah

Update from 6 months ago: BROKE DOWN TO ORDER AGAIN... Confirmed prices this time: THEY RAISED THEIR PRICES ONCE AGAIN!! When I questioned the son about raising them twice in a few months, he said "yes we did, sorry about that!" NOT COOL FOR A SMALL TOWN BUSINESS LOOKING FOR LOCAL SUPPORT. MAYBE THERE IS A REASON FOR THE LACK OF BUSINESS? PRICE GOUGING

I stopped into Chinese Gourmet Garden April 1st 2025 I ordered the LD which is sweet and sour chicken almond chicken and fried rice I ended up getting the lb which is orange chicken sweet and sour prawns and fried rice and there was also an egg roll I asked her how much egg rolls were she ask me one or two egg roll I told her no egg roll both orders are $12.50 when I got my food I was charged $17.31 I would never pay that much for Chinese food and it was the wrong order I called told the lady who I was told her I had received a wrong order she said no this is what you ordered I said no that is not what I ordered she kept insisting that that is what I ordered which was the orange chicken sweet and sour prawns rice and an egg roll I told her no that's not what I ordered she wanted to argue with me she was screaming and yelling at me Not only was my egg roll mushy rice was not done I will not ever go back to this restaurant again there was people standing there the owner she was on her phone it is a family business the owner's wife was on her phone when there were people standing there waiting to order we stood there for at least 15 minutes I know it's people there before I was personally I stood there for like 15 minutes find another Chinese restaurant to go to George's Wok is very good Shanghai Chinese Restaurant on Nob Hill is really good do not go to the one in Selah they have really gone downhill I don't like eating food that is not done my the sweet and sour chicken was hard the sweet and sour prawns were way overcooked you can't even chew them it's like biting into rubber please think twice before going to this restaurant the woman owner she is very rude her English is terrible think...

The soup is the reason I go here. I went alone and there were 3 other tables with 2-4 people. The woman who is always there as the waitress, was really friendly and making jokes at times with the other 3 tables. Not once with me. She didnt even make eye contact with me. I assume its because I wasnt going to be a big tip or big enough order. I had 3 glasses of water. She seemed so irritated that I drank my water. One of the times she only filled it part way. Same with my hot tea. When she brought it out she filled my tea cup less then half and walked away. She never asked if I needed anything. Had her young son bring out my check. The other food is less the mediocre to say the least. The service is even worse, at least if you are dining alone. This is not the first time service has been terrible. One of the other customers asked about the wonton soup and she told her so 3 egg flower soup? And she said I guess I just have never tried wonton soup. She said it's okay you want egg flower soup.
