I had driven by Dagg's a number of times and was quite seriously, coureous. So, finally on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, I took the plunge and the first thing I noticed was the building was gray and blended in such a way that it was barely, noticeable. The signs were simple with not much flair, so I wasn't expecting a mind blowing food experience. As a matter of fact everything about the exterior was very low key with not much color, if any. I even thought about backing out but unfortuneately, a truck was right behind me. The man in the open window asked me for my order, in a very polite manner and was quite welcoming. $14 for a sandwich seemed pricey but after I took a bite of my sandwich all doubts and concerns simply disapeered as the sandwich was absolutely, amazIng, one of the most Excellent, fresh, delicious, delightful, roast beef sandwich on pressed bread the size of Miami, EVER! It was large enough for me and my wife to share it for ĺunch! After the owner brought my sandwich out to our car, he offered me a free side of potatoe salad because I told him that his roast beef sandwich was the best ever which was out of this world! Arguably the best sandwich I've ever had. The roast beef was perfectly rare, the ingredients were incredibly fresh, and it was all piled on a hoagie roll that was unreal.
As an appraiser, I care deeply about value in everything I buy — and while the price might look steep at first glance, the quality of the food, the size of the Dagg Sandwich, and the sheer amount of meat, combined with excellent service, makes it an incredible value.
The two gentlemen behind the counter were outstanding — friendly, helpful, and clearly enjoy what they do. Don’t waste your hard-earned money on crap fast food when a Dagg’s sandwich can literally bring joy to your heart.
I only wish I didn’t live 45 minutes away… but I’ll definitely be back for the Italian next time I’m working...
Read moreI love the idea of the "chopped" sandwich, it's been a loooong time since anyone did something original with the idea of the sandwich, and I am 100% for it.
I tried the chopped Italian, and although the potential for a great sub was there, the bread was a total letdown. In fact it was closer to biting through a hunk of wood or an old kitchen sponge: chewy, chewy, chewy. Soft, but chewy.
The nature of the loose filling combined with the almost-impossible-to-bite-through sub roll meant that the wonderful filling was being squeezed out of the end with every bite.
I wanted to enjoy every aspect of it so bad, it was sooo close to being a great sandwich. That being said, I'd definitely try this place again and just hope the bread dilemma was a fluke.
Lot of potential for greatness here, but they have to get...
