Visited this place in Sentobia, Mississippi in Sept of 2020, and again today on October 24th, 2021. Because of the pandemic the lobby has been closed, for over 19 months now. The only way to order is in the drive thru. In 2020 I skipped that, but this year I gave it a go. Needless to say I was disappointed in the service, the quality of the food and the fact that after 13 months the dine in or carry out service are still not available. I understand the ramifications of the pandemic, but the other 4 states that I had just traveled through were open for business, lobbies and all.
As far as the food, I worked in restaurants for 23 years, and as a rule of thumb i know better than to go into a fast food restaurant between 2pm and 4pm, because it is supposed to be cook to order, but that doesn't happen sometimes. However I had just driven 680 miles from Iowa and was hungry. The food was cold, stale, had a peculiar flavor and was definitely held way over the hold time. Not Louisiana Fresh as advertised.
The service in the drive thru was unfriendly at best. NO "Welcome to Popeyes" "HI, may I help you?" Just "What do you want today." Everytime I added something to the order the only response I got was; "Is that all? She said it seven different times, I counted and I only ordered 4 things. Even when I tried to make sure I got what I ordered by repeating it. The response was "Is that all?"
Next they told me my total and to pull ahead. I did quick math in my head and they under charged me by at least $5, if not more. Now that may seem like a good deal to most, but having run a business, $5 can make or break payroll for the day sometimes. I exaggerate, but the philosophyis still correct.. I said something about it at the window, and all I got was a blank expression from the cashier, and the order taker stated that I only ordered one chicken tender, when in fact I ordered 5. But again the response was "Is that all?" I expressed that I would like to have 5 tenders and would be willing to pay for it. Again blank stares, and the the order prep person quickly threw 4 old tenders into a box.
So, they gave me the four extra tenders, didn't charge me for them, and didn't apologize for the mistake. As a matter of fact I apologized for not making myself clear in the begining but again I was treated as an inconvenience. ...
Read moreIf I could give this place a zero, I most definitely would. I stopped going because one day I went through drive thru, drove all the way home( 3 miles) and realized every piece of chicken in that box was very old. Too tired to drive back to the store so I trashed it. Money in the garbage. It is sad that you have to ask these people to cook your food fresh every single time you go there to eat. Very recently (07/23-8:00 p.m.), I decided to go back. Drive thru was full so I decided to go inside to order. Upon entering, the manager/shift leader was arguing with another staff (young lady). Of course, my presence was not acknowledged by this person in charge; however, someone from the kitchen came to the register to take my order. I asked if my meal would be prepared as advertised. I was told, we don’t have those pieces. I stated, “I don’t want substitution. I would like the pieces advertised please. I am willing to wait.” The older lady at the register asked the manager if more chicken was being prepared. The manager/person I assumed manager stated, all we have are breasts and thighs. They kept going back and forth about what they had and if they were going to prepare more. I stated, “no thank you.” As I was walking out the restaurant the “manager” let out a loud taunting laugh. This was definitely a teachable moment for my children. We will not eat there again!!! If I choose to not cook, I am willing to drive 15+ miles to eat chicken. Unprofessional! Untrained!...
Read moreLet me tell you the same thing everyone else seems to be saying in their reviews! This place is terrible! Let’s start with making the order in the drive through after waiting forever with a line that was backed up to the road. The person taking the orders could not understand simple English. I spoke clearly and loud enough that if she wasn’t thinking about her next break or meeting up with Davarius later on when she got off of work, my order would have been taken quickly and the food would have been ready when we pulled up to the window. However, the Manager who was able to understand English was able to take my order. Thank goodness for someone who can communicate effectively. Now, we finally got our food. This is supposedly to be fast food after all… the chicken sandwiches we ordered were cold and so were the fries. What is so hard about providing fast service and being able to communicate? My advice is for this location to shut down until they can hire a staff of people who can speak English and serve hot food quickly. I do not recommend this location and will not visit it ever again! I could go on and on about how terrible the staff were, but you should get the picture from what I have told you here. The wait time was for the...
