Great little watering hole in Seneca SC. Earned my favorable review after proving to be a genuine old school bar & grill..... They were open on Christmas Day!! A bar or more accurately, a pub should be open 365 days a year. Only closing when the last customer has finished for the evening, and that, only after midnight. It should serve one wholesome, hot and nutritional meal a day that stays on the bones. Has sultry and cool young women who truly enjoy their work and it shows when they smile. The bartender should be up on current events. Have at least one(1) new joke/ day. Posses a vast and technically proficient ability to mix any drink asked for with no instruction from anyone. Must always be attired in the most current gentleman's evening wear. Be respectful and courteous to a fault. Even when no reason to be is present. There should be a good and fair bristle board for darts, if feasible, a regulation pool table and a jukebox or some other manner of allowing the customer to play music in the same way as the jukebox. These are just the preliminary basics and are affordable on almost any budget and there is no need for any of these items to be "brand new" just in good working order.
That's enough of that.
But as I said this bar did all of these without pretention and with a great deal of style appropriate for the establishment and it's...
Read moreUpdating our previous five-star review to reflect the unfortunate decline of Mullen's Irish Pub in Seneca, South Carolina — a decline that seems to parallel the owner’s rapid deterioration in mental stability. What used to be a local staple is now a pit of filth, hostility, and unchecked chaos.
Let’s start with the basics: the cockroach problem in the kitchen is disgusting. It’s no longer just an occasional pest — they’re part of the scenery now. The pool tables, once a draw for locals, are an absolute joke. They’re unlevel, the slate is cracked, and the felt is in such poor condition that you’d be better off playing on cardboard. The rails are so old and dead you might as well bank shots off drywall.
But the physical decline is only half the story. The owner spews openly racist comments on social media, regularly attacks anyone who gives honest feedback, and spreads personal lies and smears about former patrons and critics. It’s not just unprofessional — it’s unhinged.
And let’s not ignore the town’s worst-kept secret: after 11 p.m., this place becomes a hotspot for scoring drugs. If that’s the vibe you're after, fine. But for anyone expecting a safe, clean, welcoming environment — look elsewhere.
This place needs a health inspection, a deep clean, and frankly,...
Read moreI have been a patron of Mullen's for several years now.
Mullen's Irish Pub is a great place to have a drink or two. 😁
You do not have to worry about dealing with "riff Raff" here generally. It is usually full of both guys and girls of all age groups and has a sometimes somber and other times highly energetic vibe as most place do.
But you will find a good time here more often than not. They have a wide selection of beers & liquors to choose from, a menu with some decent bar food, sports two pool tables as well as an outside deck which is home to several large tables.
Like most good pubs they have live music on the weekends and an accommodating dance floor in front of the stage.
You will never have parking issues because you can park on top of the hill in the movie theater's lot if the lot at Mullen's is full.
I highly recommend you check this place out if you have not done so already as Mullen's is one of if not the most popular bar in Seneca. :-)
I give it 4🍺's out of...
