Originally I had seen the reviews for China 1, but decided to give it a shot anyway. Upon walking inside I assumed the reviews were poor because of the bad service, limited buffet, and obvious lack of air conditioning. But as I continued I found out all the reasons for the horrible reviews. The food was by far the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten, and I began to feel sick after a small portion of it. On top of all this, I had to ask 3 times for a simple glass of water. And then, the cherry on top of this disaster of a Chinese restaurant, I received the bill, which was far more then the advertised price. What made me even further agitated, was that I was charged a 16% gratuity for the absolutely horrendous service, and as I went to pay the check inquired what the purpose for charging my gratuity when there was a very plainly marked tip jar. The woman behind he counter gave me a harsh look and told me tipping was required. Now from what I've always known, tipping at a self-serving buffet isn't even remotely normal. So I inquired about the possibility of not leaving a tip, and politely explained to the woman that I was very dissatisfied with the service given to me, and even told her that isn't not mandatory to tip at buffets. Once again the woman insisted that I had to pay the tip. I tired to argue with her further, but with a line of people behind me, I unwillingly gave her the tip and left, knowing that I will NEVER return to that place or give them any form of my business. I encourage people to listen the reviews and not go to that place. All I have to say is: China 1 is most definitely NOT the 1 for me. (I just wish I could give...
Read moreWe came in tonight, a party of 5. The guy that came to take our order barely spoke English and was rude. He walked away and didn't finish taking our order. He walked away and I called out twice to him, telling him we weren't finished ordering, and he ignored me. I told the hostess we would pay for our drinks and go somewhere else. He was so rude when we were trying to order when he was at the table. We wasted $12.57 on drinks we didn't drink. I do NOT recommend this place. Sevierville is a busy town, with a long wait to get seated in a restaurant on most nights. Tonight is a Saturday and there was only one other table with people dining in. That has to be a bad sign! Their service is rude. Can't judge the food, we didn't get to finish ordering. I paid for drinks we didn't get to drink and will never go back! The service was horrible. Don't waste your time or money here, like I wasted mine. We would've easily spent over $100 on sushi alone and another $100 for entrees, had this guy actually finished...
Read moreA first time try for us and it was well worth the visit. The vibe of the restaurant offers a quiet dining experience that allows for an enjoyable meal. Every staff member that interacted with us was sooo friendly, from the host to the waitress that waited on us along with those who waited on others. Just great service all around. The entrees matched the quality of the service as well. You can certainly tell that it was made to order as everything was hot and needed to cool a bit. The portion sizes are amazing for the price and you're more than likely going to need a box. While the sushi was average in taste, the price didn't break the bank. The steamed dumplings are huge and the General Tso chicken was pretty tasty. When it comes to the Orange Chicken, you can definitely taste the fruity zest. Overall, it was a really good experience and I am looking forward to...
