Let me start off by saying that I like Captain D's, but the one in Seymour, IN needs some help. I went in for dinner around 5 on a Thursday, the place was empty except for 2 tables of guests. I ordered the grilled white fish with green beans and broccoli. I tried to find a clean table, when there wasn't one, I had to sit down at a dirty one (floors were dirty too). My food came out and my grilled fish was swimming in what looked like grease. I always get the white fish so I know what its supposed to look like. Take something somewhat healthy and make it very unhealthy. If I had a 1/2 cup of beans and broccoli each I was doing good. More like a 1/4 cup. But the worst thing that happened was the way the young girl at the counter treated an older lady. I over heard the two older ladies talking about not getting the fish they ordered. One of the ladies went up and told the girl behind the counter that their fish was wrong. The girl behind the counter tried to explain about not being able to get a certain fish so they use pollack, the lady didn't understand so the counter girl got frustrated and said, and I quote "well I can give you a refund or you can just throw it away and go home"! I was like what, did I just hear that. The poor lady got her refund and was walking back into the dining room when the same counter girl hollered at her and said, "mam you need to throw that plate away you can't leave it on my counter". While I was writing this,, the other counter girl was speaking on the phone with someone and talking about the exchange and lying, saying the counter girl (I know her name) was nice and tried to explain to the lady and that the lady said she was going to call the corporate office, that is when the counter girl went over the line. I heard the older lady,, she never raised her voice, but the counter girl sure did. The other counter girl, who was talking to an unknown person, on the phone, said we are tired, and we have some personal problems, something about someone being pregnant, then she said I guess I should go to the back and not let everyone hear her personal problems. Now, I just heard the rude counter girl say she has no filter and if someone says something to her she is going to tell them what she thinks. Mercy, she needs to be fired. Apparently she has no idea of customer service either. Ruined my whole meal. I'm here in Seymour for 3 weeks, and I won't be back if rude employees are allowed to treat customers the way this lady...
Read moreI ordered delivery through DoorDash. They didn't tell the dasher they were out of gumbo. The bag wasn't sealed and was clearly underweight, so he should've noticed that there was no gumbo inside and mentioned it to them. Instead, my order was dropped off and I discovered not only that I had no gumbo and no change in my total, but also, I paid almost $10 for about 6 ounces of mac and cheese. Those 3 or so ounce cups are $4.59 each. Rip-off.
When I informed dasher of the missing gumbo and a copy of my receipt, he went back and finally was told they were out. They offered more overpriced sides as alternatives after I had to ask what options I had for alternatives.
I got a refund, thanks to DoorDash customer support. The only good part of my experience with Captain D's is that my kids liked what little of the breaded okra and mac and cheese they got. But I have no intention of ordering from them again. They're severely overpriced and they seem to think they can get away with charging customers for something they never receive.
Update: after owner or whomever told me to contact guest services, never heard back like I was supposedly going to. So if the owner says to leave feedback and wait for a reply on the website they give, don't bother. They're just trying to act like they care about their customer base. They...
Read moreMy husband went through the drive thru and got a deluxe seafood platter. At the drive thru window there was a note hanging up saying something about the quantities being less. If that is the case why are the prices still the same. With that being said, there wasn’t any hush puppies in the meal. There wasn’t even a full order of fries probably because they didn’t want to put any more down. They used what they already had made. I don’t know what happened to the fish it looks like they take one filet and cut it in half and that is your 2 pieces. I called and the manager and he did take my name down and said the next time I came there I could get fries and hush puppies which I will not do because I want my fries and hush puppies with my dinner not on the side. The lady at the drive thru was very rude. I thought she was supposed to check the dinners. She was very rude when my husband asked for extra sauces. Probably because they can’t charge for extra sauces anymore. This stuff doesn’t happen at the Beford or Columbus, Indiana restaurants. I don’t know what happened at this place. It used to be such a good place to eat. I think upper management needs to be in there a lot more and do a lot more training and hiring because I don’t see how this particular Captain D’s is going to stay...
