Sakura Sushi and Grill — Restaurant in Seymour

Very disappointed. Went in with my 2 kids for dinner. The youngest had already eaten, so I ordered him a Cucumber roll. My daughter order Shrimp hibachi. I ordered Chicken hibachi and another Cucumber roll to split.

Both Cucumber rolls come at same time, which I was o.k. with. We all ate. Then about 20 minutes later the waitress sets the Shrimp hibachi down in front of my daughter without saying anything to us. At this point I assume my food is coming shortly....15 mins later, no food, no word from waitress. Both kids are done eating. I call waitress over & ask about my food. She runs off, I assume to check on it, don't know she didn't say. She isn't speaking very much at all. Comes back with another lady, who says somethings-only thing I understand is chicken hibachi. I stop her. Tell her, "NO, I don't want my food now since my kids are done. We came in to eat dinner together. I will go thru a drive thru. I want to pay & leave." They actually bring the food to me!!!! I again, say "NO, I just want to pay & leave"

I can say the cucumber roll tasted good, don't know about the rest of the food. The service definitely NEEDS A LOT OF WORK The timing on food...

Update: Decided to give them another try. I ordered shrimp and scallops. My order had about twice as much rice to fill the plate, 2 scallops and 4 or 5 shrimp and half the vegetables you used to get. I paid 17.00 for an entree that was half what they used to serve. This place won't last if they keep it up! Old review:::: I took my daughter for lunch yesterday. She ordered sushi, I had hibachi shrimp and we had one appetizer. The bill was 43.00 plus a tip. We were the only two customers and there were three employees who sounded alot like they were arguing the entire time we were there. To spend 50.00 for lunch in Seymour is ridiculous. We probably won't be back and we've been customers since they opened. Nothing like making the portions much smaller, charging more and pricing yourself out...

This was our second time eating here. On both occasions everything has been excellent.

The food is great. This place does hibachi style food, but it is not one that prepares the food at your table. So no show. However the food is very good. You choose between hibachi (savory) and teriyaki (sweet). Prices are reasonable and the food comes quickly. It includes fried or white rice, vegetables, and a small salad with ginger dressing. They also offer things like Japanese dumping, appetizers, and sushi. We have been pleased with everything we tried.

The service is quick and the servers are very polite. The place is clean and well maintained. There is plenty of parking. Entering and exiting are easy as there is a traffic light right there. Highly...
