Stopped by here on the way home from Valley Fair. Forgot that the Vikings were on but was still seated right away and the game crowd was of all ages and very well behaved (as well as could be on border battle day) Pretty large place with tons of TVs. Wait staff was friendly and engaging, also trying to keep tabs on the game :) Was pretty hungry so ordered a decent amount. If not so hungry definately shareable entrees. Started with a pitcher of draft root beer, very smooth and creamy, beats big names any day! My daughter ordered the Chicken Alfredo, nice sized pieces of grilled chicken and a very cheesy and creamy sauce. On her scale from 1-10 she says it was a 7. It comes with a side salad and garlic toast. She isn't much for salad so I ate it, pretty good side salad. I ordered the wings and cheese curds. The Thai flavor was ok, next time I think I'll try their Dragon. The cheese curds were white cheddar and had a light breading, not over cooked. My wife had the chicken tender meal. The tenders were juicy and crispy. Cole slaw was good, was chunky with a creamy sauce and not sweet or sour. The potatoes were ok, paired well with the dish, maybe try a different side next time. The turtle sundae is a bit unique, comes in a small taco bowl which has cinnamon and sugar like a churro. A healthy scoop of ice cream covered with chocolate and caramel sauces. Overall a fun time was had with good food and seems a great place to...
Read moreI have lived in Shak for a little over two years now and my wife and I finally decided we would try this Shakopee staple. We showed up there on a Saturday afternoon around 3-330ish so they were not very busy other than what appeared to be a wedding reception going on at the bar area, but the dining area only had a few tables filled. We waited a long time for someone to finally pay attention to us and find us an empty seat. They offered us a seat on the stage, my wife and I gave each other a look like, "Nah, lets not be on display to a wedding party as we gulp down whatever fine dining this establishment has prepared for us." I told the hostess that we preferred a booth and she obliged my request, that was apparently a bad idea. Maybe they wanted to put us on the stage because their visual acuity is on par with a T-rex. Once they sat us and got us our drinks (a water and a soda) we instantly became invisible. The staff was super nice......to all the other customers enjoying their afternoon but for whatever reason they failed to notice us. I finally chased down a waitress but by that point my wife and I were done being ignored and decided to visit another restaurant. We offered to pay for the one soda but the waitress gave it to us on the house, so they are nice once they know you exist. The water tasted like tap water and my wife enjoyed her few sips of free soda. Maybe we will try again in a...
Read moreMy husband and I have been coming to Turtle's regularly because of the delicious food! Our favorite is the Chicken Ranch Pizza and the Fetuccini Alfredo. Yum! So last week, when my son turned 21, we thought Turtles is the perfect place to celebrate. Lisa, the owner, was very accommodating. Saturday evenings are always busy but she still agreed to book us. In spite of the short notice, she helped us plan and set up a long dinner table for our guests. I got there 15 minutes before the party. The table was already set, cups and water were placed - all ready for our guests. Irene greeted me and helped me decide on starters. During the party, Irene would come every now and then asking us if we need anything. Guests loved the food, including the kids who ordered burgers, fries and pretzels. The kids also had fun with the activity sheet and the funny pet videos showing on one of the screens. When I got the bill, I was surprised that it was way below my estimate. Lisa also came to greet me and I couldn't stop myself from giving her a hug. Turtles made our son's birthday party a night to remember. For sure we will have many more gatherings over at this very fun and friendly restaurant. Thank...
