I'm not a fan of breakfast foods in general. No problem when it comes to this place, 7:00 in the morning and they have no problem whipping up a bacon Angus burger for me within maybe 7 minutes at most. I've eaten here twice now. For $10 or less I get bacon Angus cheeseburger with hash browns that they add onion and cheese to. A Coca-Cola to go with it that was refilled immediately. Very friendly waitress. This last time I went they ran out of cheeseburger buns but substituted with white toast. Normally this would irritate me a little bit but given all of the areas of excellence otherwise noted, it didn't detract from my experience whatsoever. Cheeseburger was tasty and the hash browns are great. I am from New England and had heard about waffle House my whole life but had never tried it until last week. I've been in North Carolina for 3 months now and I had no idea what I was missing! I know it's a small diner but the taste of the food, the customer service, the speed at which the food was prepared, in the overall feel of a really small place with maybe 10 tables or less (which they keep moving quickly- without making you feel rushed) provides an overall experience that I would rate as stellar. I am so pleasantly surprised for a small little diner. I love this place and it's my favorite place to eat around here. I really had no idea what I was missing eating at lousy diners up north. I can only hope other locations are just as good. Excellent place to eat, I'll be returning here probably once a week. Two people could eat reasonably with a coffee and a soda for less than $20. And again the service is just so fast which is exactly what I want and what I'm hungry I don't want to go into a place and wait 30 minutes for my food. it's faster cheaper and 20 times the quality of going to McDonald's or something. Highly recommend this waffle House. Thanks for...
Read moreMy son and I arrived about 7:00 in the morning and sat in the first booth right at the front. There were two gentlemen sitting in the middle booth and then no one in the last booth. We sat there for probably 5 minutes. Our waitress did not wait on us and did not greet us she did offer the two gentlemen in the middle booth more coffee. After about 2 to 3 minutes another man walked in and sat down in the middle booth with the other two gentlemen, the waitress then walked over and asked him if he wanted his regular and his coffee. She still has not spoken to us or offered us any service. Another man walked in and sat in the third booth up against the wall she went straight to him and offered him a coffee, and a menu. It was obvious to me that she knew all these men and they were her regulars. At this point I had had enough and I got up to leave when a nice waitress that was working on the other side her name was Sue, asked if we had been waiting on yet? I said NO, that we weren't important enough for the waitress to offer us service and that we were going next door to Bojangles! Sue told us to come and sit in her section and she would take care of my son and I. As my son and I were sitting there eating our breakfast the woman that was supposed to have been our waitress spent the majority of her time talking to the men she had waited on and playing music on the jukebox. According to her coworker, she's not a good waitress and she spends all of her time at the jukebox. Sue was a great waitress, and left...
Read moreComing back from a trip one morning, I decided to swing by this WH to show the kids what an old school diner was like. When we arrived we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. While we were waiting, the young man acting as a "host", was mostly cold and detached from the action of seating people. Eventually he seated us like the character Lurch from the Munsters world have. Once seated, it took a while to get our order taken. After ordering, I enjoyed watching the wait staff and cooks work their magic. That was until I saw one of the cooks, wearing a durag and Waffle House arm sleeves, helping himself to the chocolate chips meant for the waffles. It was like "a little for me, a little in the mix". This went on for a while. I was really surprised at his boldness since everyone in the WH could clearly see . After the entertainment, the food finally arrived. Unfortunately, It was cold and the order was incorrect. Overall, the kids weren't impressed and just like that, a generation of future WH patrons gone. I spent t close to $70 that day for two adults four small children. As I drove off, I realized I could have probably spent $40 for breakfast at McDonald's and had a much...
