We came around 5:45pm on a Sunday because kids eat free on Sundays. The food was decent, but service was slow, and the tables were not cleaned off well. We were told there was a wait when the place was only about half occupied, and when we were called back, the hostess began to seat us at a table outside that was dirty, so she wiped the large crumbs onto a chair but didn't wipe off the chair. I had to wipe it myself with my hand. Server took a long time to come out and get our orders, and we gave her the order for food along with our drinks (two waters and a lemonade). Our drinks took a long time to come out, and the food took even longer. No napkins available at the table, so we had to request them when the food came out. My husband never got the refill on his lemonade that he asked for, and when our server finally came back out to our table (without the refill), she just said "sorry about that" and made a comment about being busy inside. She offered a to-go cup, but at that point we were just eager to get home. We paid $48, before tip and supposedly with the kids meal being free (the receipt wasn't itemized) for a lemonade, fish & chips, and a philly cheesesteak. Overpriced for what the food was. Unfortunately, the experience was not a good one for our family, and we don't...
Read moreFour of us who had participated earlier today [2-10-2023] in the weekly Friday-morning discussion group at the Griswold Center in "Old Worthington" walked several blocks south on High St. after we had adjourned so that we would be able to eat at The Old Bag of Nails Pub [Old Worthington] at 663 High St. in Worthington.
I am glad that we had arrived several minutes before the "noontime rush."
Immediately after we had entered that restaurant at 11:45 a.m. and had been escorted to our seats, most of the seats in that restaurant had been empty. However, several minutes after 12:00 noon, all of the seats had been filled so that restaurant had become extremely busy.
I have eaten many times at The Old Bag of Nails Pub [Upper Arlington] so I know their menu quite well.
Today, at The Old Bag of Nails Pub [Old Worthington], I ordered grilled boneless [chicken] wings which has become my traditional order whenever I am eating at The Old Bag of Nails Pub.
The one difference when I had ordered today's meal had been that I had requested "Garlic Parmesan" sauce rather than "Buffalo" sauce.
The Old Bag of Nails Pub [Old Worthington] is a great place to eat if you want to visit with friends; however, I recommend avoiding the lunch hour if you want to be in a less-crowded...
Read moreOrdered delivery last night again from the Worthington location as we have done several times before. It was inedible.
I ordered the chickens fingers basket with loaded tots (they sent loaded steak fries, but that didn’t matter). The 3 small pieces is chicken had so much breading I think they came from a bag of generic frozen chicken from Kroger. Not only was it low quality chicken, it was so overcooked, dry and rock hard. The “loaded fries” had some bacon bits under them (that was it… if there was cheese I missed it). The fries, like the chicken were so over cooked they were dry, hard and inedible.
I wish I would have gone to Raisin Canes. All of the food is better and it’s cheaper.
My spouse ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap with loaded tots. He was lucky enough to get all of what he ordered. Unfortunately, the tots were as dry and overcooked as my chicken. The wrap had so little chicken and so much buffalo sauce, they should rename it to the Buffalo Sauce wrap.
We’ll probably visit again, but not any time soon. I’ll never order delivery from them and will probably never buy anything other than the fish (hoping they don’t ruin that too).
I don’t remember to grab pics,...
