The food was so so. I can tell they use good ingredients because the chicken was bright white on the inside. I got General Tsos chicken no complaints there. The egg rolls were fried very dark. I got the egg soup which was a mistake it was very eggy and so thick it was more like jello. Totally inedible with no flavor except egg. I ordered here because this has so many 5 star ratings but maybe they just have great service or a loyal local customer base. I stayed in a nearby hotel and got it door dashed to my room and I wouldn't order again unfortunately. I was in the mood for something nice while I'm traveling but this was 3 star food at best. I can forgive the soup being inedible maybe that's just how they make it and I've had menu misses before its no big deal. But the flavor on the chicken was very mild and the chicken was too chewy. The rice wasn't the freshest it had a stale texture. The croutons that go in the soup were actually stale but the soup was so bad it didn't matter much. They gave me wontons I didn't order with my egg rolls and I don't eat wontons so I ended up throwing a lot of food away with this order. I would order somewhere else if I had the...

I’ve tried what is arguably the best Americanized Chinese food in SoCal so my standards are higher, but I really did want this to be my new, local mom and pops place.
Ordered orange chicken and black pepper chicken with white rice. Portions are smaller, probably close to Panda Express size. Chinese food is known for its bigger portions, so this is important as bad as it sounds!
The orange chicken was dry, and poorly breaded. There was no crunch to the bite. The glaze didn’t have an authentic orange flavor, despite orange peels being visible in the food. The glaze should be made with peels but it shouldn’t be IN the glaze of the final product!
The peppered chicken was mostly soy sauce with a small side of chicken.
The COVID workflow for takeout could be much better too but they’re all working hard in the kitchen doing their best so can’t complain too much.
Last photo of this review is what orange chicken SHOULD look like. Google “Golden Dragon” in Fontana, CA or San...
Read moreI am pretty sure people were paid for reviews. I knew this place was there but it looked suspect at best. after doing some research for west Shawnee and seeing the above stellar reviews, I decided to try it out. I order the chefs special, Dragon & Phoenix(shrimp and general tso's chicken) and it was okay at best. The crab rangoon was obviously on old oil and left a stain of after taste in my mouth. Wife and kids were all equally un-impressed, kids didnt even eat their kids meals, they love Chinese food. West Shawnee is desperate for any type of good food or service so I guess that is why this place has good reviews. Like Sombreros Mexican joint, the food is a filler and and no thriller, people must be starving to rant and rave about this place. It's no Fortune Wok, the quality of ingredients are average at best, my chicken was dark meat/white meat mixed - I hate that, even got some gristle, which is just poor food preparation. Not...
