City Bites — Restaurant in Shawnee

I like visiting this local sandwich shop when I am craving a Mesquite Chicken Sandwich. I like that they have several bread options to choose from including wraps. They also have a variety of Cold Sandwiches or Grilled Hot Sandwiches, Stuffed Baked Potatoes, Salads & soups of the day. I've had their Philly Cheese Steak sandwich & I'm glad that I am able to customize the sandwich to remove what I don't want on the sandwich. They have a wide variety of chips, drinks & a display case of cookies if you are craving something sweet.

The manager is very nice at this location & has taken the extra time to deliver an order to my table when they aren't swamped. Lunch can be a little pricey but I prefer this sandwich place over the other national chain sandwich places in town. California Club was good. One slice of bacon spread across half a fried tomato roll, with a single thing slice of avocado on each side. Wife's sandwich had only 1 avocado slice on 1 side. Recently opened, so have some bugs to work out apparently. Not busy at 11:05 AM, but by 11:30, people were giving up and leaving because of the long line and lack of seating space. Service was spotty. We were 3rd in line. After serving the 2 couples ahead of us, the man just walked away without a word like we were invisible. He came back out and walked past us to another register, again not acknowledging us. Then a girl came from the back and waited on us. Not sure what was going on, but kind of strange. This is a heads up to anyone phoning in an order based on the above published prices. Spuds are all about $2 higher than what you see here. $7.29 published; $8.99 in reality. I ordered four and discovered the discrepancy when I got ready to post the receipt to my expense ledger. General Manager said CB can't be responsible for what Google publishes! Bottom line, don't order if you're on a budget. 😆 The spuds are delicious and I don't mind paying $8.99! I do not appreciate the bait and switch scheme, and told the general manager as much. He is the person who told me I was using Google's site, even though it had the official City Bites logo. The 1 rating is a reflection of that...
