Boomarang Diner - Shawnee (MacArthur) — Restaurant in Shawnee

I ordered online (through Door-Dash as it was the only option that I could see on my phone). I specifically requested that it be for "pick up" and not "delivery". When my husband arrived to get our food (in the 10 minute window of time they told us to be there), they had no clue regarding the order. He then drove across town (with gasoline prices nearing $5 per gallon) to a different Boomarang (that I did not order from) they, rightfully so, had no specifics regarding our order, but offered to make it for us while he waited. He declined because it should have been at the other location. He then proceeded to travel back across town (still $5 per gallon gas) to attempt to retrieve our food. In the mean time, I called the correct (1st) location to attempt to sort this out. Apparently, the restaurant had allowed a Door-Dash driver to leave with our food. The manager offered ZERO options to correct this problem for us. Absolutely ZERO, while at the same time, taking complete blame for the screw up. At this point our food had been out of her store for at least 30 minutes in 100+ degree temperatures, in a complete stranger's car. My husband arrived back at the 1st location and apparently the Door-Dash driver realized he/she had no idea where this food was supposed to go and returned it to the store. This is the food they gave us. Food that had been riding around in this random stranger's car in the heat for over 45 minutes at this point. When my husband finally got home, the food had been out of the restaurant for over an hour and was inedible. And get this, the cheese for the burgers that we paid extra for, was not on the burgers. So, even though I am all about supporting small businesses and Boomarang used to be one of my favorites, this experience alone is enough to make me NEVER want to go back. Seriously, the manager said the mistake was completely their fault and we did nothing wrong, but she had no solutions for us and solving the problem would be wholly on us. This is my experience the first time I decided to pick up food from Boomarang Diner on MacArthur in Shawnee, OK.

Thursday(5/4/17) night I went to get food.They accidentally charged my card around 7x the actual cost of my food, voided it, and then charged the actual cost. So the money, plus room for tip, has been on hold on my card since Thursday night. Basically I have $93 floating around in cyberspace, no clue when I can get it back, American Express can't do anything about it, all because some girl was trying to speed through my transaction to go socialize. I got a pathetic "I'm sorry that happened" from the manager. I have no clue how to call corporate. I was trying to be patient and understanding but that was ALL MY MONEY. (I had to sell some of my stuff to be able to eat and buy gas yesterday. I don't get disability benefits yet, and food stamps won't be in till the 10th.) So... rent is due next week, I have no money, and no way to MAKE money, because my internet is off.

Today(5/8/17) called them, got another pathetic apology, apparently corporate is closed for the night. He said he'd call them and try to see what can happen to get my money back/ expedite the process, took my name and number. You can't just mess up like that and assume it's ok.

No offer to comp the food, not even a free soda for my poor experience.

Overly hasty unprofessional employees, poor customer service,  mediocre food.

I'd give 10 stars if Google would let me!They always always make a great meal. Thank you Boomerang for doing the cooking!

I usually go to Boomerang for breakfast. They make a good cup of coffee, they make my eggs exactly as I ordered. It's why we frequent them.

Tonight we went for dinner. It was spot on! I ordered the catfish dinner. I didn't expect as generous a serving as they served.!! 6 nice sized fillets! Most restraints give you 3 or 4 for the same price. They let me substitute the color slaw for extra hush puppies (theirs are so tasty), and the French fries for tomato slices. They didn't have any coffee made but made a fresh pot, it was delicious. One of the best catfish dinners I've had. We also had a double cheeseburger and a KV Burger. Both came with a helping of French fries. They had excellent customer service!! The wait staff never let our drinks or coffee get empty.
