After a long, hard day at work (possibly smelly also after work) on July 9th, at around 9:00 PM, my wife and I decided to grab some late dinner and get a pizza at Minsky's. Since we live close by, we went to the location on Renner Rd. in Shawnee, KS. Since we arrived late, about an hour before the store closed at 10 PM, there were only two tables with people seated. One was a group of men who appeared to be coming from a business meeting. We were at the other table. We were sat at a booth and greeted by a young blonde named Bella. She was extremely attentive to our table and needs while attending the other larger party. My wife and I are somewhat complex in our order since she is a Vegan, and I am a Meat eater, so the server, Bella, did an amazing job ensuring our order was correct. Probably 20 minutes before the store closed, another couple came in and sat down after the store had already pretty much cleaned the whole restaurant and was ready to close. They decided to seat them and serve the couple, who complained about everything the whole time they were there. Since we were the only three tables in the restaurant, we were all seated in the same general area. The server went above and beyond for all three tables. The large businessman table got up and left, seeming extremely pleased with their food and service. The other couple continued to complain the whole time, although all their needs were taken care of by the young blonde server, who went above and beyond for them. We even overheard them saying they were not going to leave a tip about halfway through their meal, even though we felt like the server bent over backward to take care of their needs. After hearing this and knowing what a great job Bella did for our table, we decided to leave her a generous tip to compensate for the other couple who seemed to be looking for a free meal. We go to this establishment approximately once a week, and the service is always impeccable, and the food quality is always great. The atmosphere, the servers, and everything else are always on point. If there's ever an issue, they make it right immediately. Kudos to the young blonde server named Bella for the awesome service. If we could give 6 stars, we...
Read moreTo be or not to be, that is the question. In the case of the Shawnee Minsky’s Pizza, is it not to be. I had called to place an order for delivery since their website would not allow my order to go through. The person that answered the phone was not interested in taking an order and was not very helpful. When the representative asked for my address, I shared it with her. She then immediately stated that they do not deliver to my location. I asked how this could be, since their website, which I checked before calling, stated that I was well within their delivery zone. She did not know and stated that they could not deliver to me. I asked if she could check on this. She talked to her manager and found out after having Googled my address that I was in fact within their delivery zone.
She proceeded to take my order. All was going okay until it was time to make payment over the phone. The amount that she requested was almost $6 higher than what they website reflected that it would be. I asked why it was higher and I was told that the delivery charge is greater for my area. I asked how much it was and she responded that it was twice as much as what is listed on their website. I asked her about this and she did not have an answer. I placed the order anyway and was told that it would be 45 minutes to an hour for the pizza to be delivered.
Overall, it seems that their staff are not trained, they lack the most basic skills in customer service, and do not seem to care about the disconnects that exist between what is on their website, what their staff say, and what is shared on their telephone while you are on hold with them. Fingers crossed that the food is amazing to offset and make up for the fact that there is a whole lot of false advertising going on here with a healthy dose of rude...
Read moreLast night, was the worst experience that I've had at this Minskey. My family and I were eating out to celebrate my son's birthday. We were seated @6:00pm and was told that it was busy but our waitress would be over shortly. 20 mins goes by and no one had been over to our table to offer water or get our drink order. I had to get up and find someone to come over to get us something to drink. A waitress finally comes over take our drink orders and food @6:35pm She tells us that there was a medical emergency there early and the kitchen is back up and it would be about 35-45 minutes before we got our pizza. We were fine with that but I said can I order a salad because if I don't eat then there would be a second medical emergency, she said that she would try. Now, 6:55pm I finally get my salad. At 7:15pm, we asked someone to find our waitress so that we could get refills of our drinks and to find out what was going on with our pizza. During that time carry out orders were walking out the door, and people tired of waiting to have some come over to their table or waiting on their pizza had left the restaurant. The waitress comes over to our table with an attitude and says that we still have 5 mins left from the quoted time that she told us and that we have to be patience, other things are going on. No one came back to the table to our table so we left @7:45pm disappointed and still hungry. This upset my son because he really wanted pizza for his birthday. I'm so upset with the customer service that we received that I don't think that we will be...
