Worst experience ever in the Kansas City Metropolitan Area!
We waited forever for a table for 2, but across from our table (less than 6 feet apart & was that way throughout the western Shawnee location was the social non-distancing practice the powerful dollar at work!) They seated a single gentleman rather quickly.
It took about 15 minutes for our waitress to even acknowledge my wife & I were in her station! She took our order the wife ordered an omelet with rye toast coffee & ice water. I ordered a stack of pancakes & 2 eggs basted but she didn't understand what basted eggs meant so said scrambled & those came back fried hard. My wife was served white toast instead of rye, our ice water never came & had to be requested again halfway through our breakfast.
People, I began my restaurant career as a dishwasher, moved up through the ranks to head waiter. Before I was 18. I left the business for a couple of years returning as an assistant manager & making my way as the General Manager. I taught my staff "The Art of Customer Service" in a nutshell the golden rule mixed in with the manners Grandma required at her house! There was none of that!
The men's room was worst than a pig stye, trash throughout the room, neither paper towels dispenser worked (hint hint keep an extra set batteries on hand for all dispensers) it was pointless using from the roll on the counter soaked in water... by the way at 1100 am nobody of the staff checked in the condition of the men's room based on the chart on the door. I looked.
My meal sucked, the pancakes tasted like waffle batter was used, the scrambled eggs tasted like metal. My wife's meal was about the same.
I figured after the 34 years your business has been in business, you'd at least master something. You haven't you're a mom & pop diner that started in Shawnee, Ks, expanded to south shawnee until that joint burnt to the ground from a grease fire in the flue-vent. You have experienced some growth. Still not impressed.
By the way, to your staff I am the customer & that's sir, not honey, babe, dear, sweetie, darling, etc. those are reserved for my wife, after 36 years of marriage she's earned the right not your staff, & don't worry, our shadows will never darken your...
Read moreThis place is supposedly good. Not! First impressions were not the best. The restaurant was dark, dirty and crowded, even though there were hardly any patrons. The server went to take our order and was immediately yelled at, in Spanish, by another server and instructed to leave us, mid ordering, and go deliver food to a whole other family. But I should've known something was up because, immediately upon arriving, the manager started b^%@hing that one of the patrons didn't leave her a tip. In fact, she never stopped b^%@hing the whole time we were there, which wasn't long because the food hit my stomach like a ton of bricks. My food was tasteless yet made my stomach hurt so bad that I literally barely made it home in time to "rid of it"! (Sorry in advance for the image but I thought you should know everything.) I almost didn't leave a review here because I'm still trying to recuperate from the experience and didn't want to relive it.
They are getting one star from me because I can't leave them none AND because my husband DID enjoy the Philly cheese steak that he ordered. He also was feeling generous and instead of being annoyed, like me, about the ambiance that the staff was creating, he found their b^%@hing to be humorous. He even asked the manager if she was having a bad day. She, of course, said yes and proceeded to tell us why and tell us it's okay because she was getting ready to leave soon. The only thing that I appreciated about this place that was when asked, they opened the doors for my husband to wheel me out in my wheelchair (said sarcastically because I think this should be a given because of their limited-area entrance that makes it hard for the handicapped to enter). Oh, and I guess they had large portions for their...
Read more5-31-2020 ordered around 6:30pm disappointed this time ordering the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and macaroni with a slice of carrot cake. Meat loaf didnt taste as good. The carrot cake wasnt moist like their cakes normally be. My order was missing my macaroni and roll. Doordash did compensated me for the missing items. My food wasnt secured closed with the stickers. Easily able to tamper with my food. They usually secure the container close with a sticker and also the bag with a staple. Cannot over look safety precautions.
I order from this location often using door dash. Food always good, low prices with good size portions. The super club sandwich one of my favorites so delicious. Started ordering the chicken alfredo with caesar salad, really good just gotta add a little salt and pepper to the alfredo.
Update: Still no complaints I recommend trying the cake. I order from door dash often love that my food come sealed. With so many drivers on the news messing with food make me feel...
