Shawnee Pho — Restaurant in Shawnee

Crew members are rude. They struggle with keeping the temperature comfortable for the guests. Not sure if this is in an effort to save costs, if the HVAC equipment is unable handle weather extremes, OR if they are just not privy to the dining room temperature. Additionally, I'm not sure what it is about Asian restaurants, in general, but the sauce bottles (Sriracha, hoisen, etc) that remain on the tables are ALWAYS filthy and never cleaned. They simply refill and move on--day after day after day. The food is decent but I genuinely believe they would not be in business if a more reputable Pho restaurant came into town with an ounce of effort in the customer service arena. As for the pho soup (specifically), I used to enjoy it, however a year or so ago they simply decided to stop buying/using cilantro. I could have excused it at the time as simply a supply shortage,. . .but that is certainly no longer the case and it is one of the most critical (and relatively inexpensive) ingredients...

The service is good, and portion size good. Place is clean. My wife ordered the teriaki shrimp bowl and some spring rolls. The teriaki bowl was good and filling. The spring rolls had no flavor, so were disappointing. My son ordered the combo teriyaki was suppose to have three meats but only had just the beef. They did make things right by offering to remake the order or take 20% off. I ordered grilled chicken platter. Really like the PHO soups BEFORE the tornado hit Shawnee and closed it down. Have tried this twice since their reopening and the chicken pho is NOT the same. The chicken is greasy and inedible. The soup base has so much grease in it that it hardens on the spoon. This used to be the best soup but is not the same. The grill plate had very mushy rice that was in a tight ball and inedible. The normal flavor that used to be on the vegetables and the meat on the grill plate is not there. It was a homemade soy sauce that enhanced the overall dish. Still not impressed and sad it did not come back...
