This is a restaurant that we have been to several times and we drive 22 miles one way. However we won’t go back ever. Today we were given our check and my husband handed me his debit card but I needed to use the ladies room. I left my purse and said I would take it to the register when I got back but a man who was not our server came by reached over our drinks and food and took the card and check to the dismay of my husband! He told him we had another purchase and was coming to the register. The OLD woman in charge that is the hostess and also cleans tables and brings salsa and chips said they always pick up the cards when they are on the end of table and that he doesn’t speak English is why he didn't understand NO. She said I was rude for having said something at the register. I ordered a chicken taco salad that was full of brine water from the chicken but was told it was from the refried beans. They wanted to debate it was beans versus water which it clearly was but I poured it off and ate it only to be disrespected by the alleged woman in charge. This restaurant isn’t the cheapest and we have always had good food and decent service until recently. It will continue to go down if you put someone in charge who can’t control her mouth and yell at me in front of everyone and over the phone when we called back. My husband took the phone and told her not to blame his wife nor talk to me that way and then hung up on her. Save your money and don’t do business with these people. The last time we were there ( fall of 2020 in the middle of a world wide pandemic) the same guy took our chip basket that was full of small broken pieces and put new chips on top and denied it but he doesn’t speak English. This is what is wrong with this country today, people...
Read moreOur first time ordering from this place we got don Ramon favorito one with shrimp and one with chicken, smothered burrito, chalupa and churros. Only one dish was edible and the rest got threw in the trash. The favorito with shrimp didn't even look cooked! It looked like it was steamed with no seasoning. There was only one single shrimp with grill marks, the rest looked raw! Very unappetizing. I ate a few of the veggies which tasted steamed with no seasoning and they were overcooked mush! I ate the one cooked shrimp and it was tough and tasted what I imagine mold would taste like. The beef burrito tasted like gritty, steamed card board. The gritty being the beef and the steamed cardboard being the tortilla. One bite and threw in the trash. The chalupa wasn't even a chalupa. It was a plate that all you could see was lettuce and tomato smothered in sour cream. We dug down to see what was under all of the mess and all I was able to find was a steamed cardboard tortilla. We threw that away without even tasting it. The churros were floating in a puddle of white liquid, I'm assuming was whipped cream. They were tough as well! You had to really tug on them to get a bite. We ate two of those and threw the rest in trash. I have never wasted so much food from a restaurant in my life! You would think after cooking for a restaurant for so long you could find a way to make your food edible but I guess not. Do they not taste what they are serving!? I am flabbergasted by the current 4 1/2 star! There is NO WAY that is the truth, none what so ever. I'm going to get sick just driving by this place...
Read moreAmazing! My wife and I were told that the food here was delicious. We finally found time to go and we are so glad we did.
Not only was the food amazing, but the portion size is generous. The price is very reasonable as well.
We went in the early evening and it was not very busy. The waiter was extremely nice. He immediately brought out some tortilla chips. They look and tasted homemade. Their pico de gallo tasted fantastic and had just a little zing to it.
I ordered their bacon wrapped shrimp. I'm not sure if this is seen authentic Mexican dish but it tasted out of this world! It can with the common fare of rice.
My wife ordered a special that had 5 different types of burritos. The cheese and beef were the best, but the chicken was a bit dry. She also ordered a side of guacamole. I was blown away. It it's truly one of the best I have ever tasted (and I grew up in the South West). I don't remember what they charged but it was worth it.
I like tying new places, but I know I'll be back to Don Ramons the next time we're in the mood for some excellent Mexican cuisine at an affordable price. I would strongly recommend you...
