
This is an EXTREMELY TERRIBLE Business! NO INTEGRITY! I was excited to support this small business initially finding it online. After reviewing the website, I called and made my order to pickup the next day. The manager/owner confirmed that I can come pickup the cake Sat. between 10-11am. In fact, the manager/owner said that I could come earlier because they would be there at 7 am but the store doesn’t open until 10-2pm. I reaffirmed to her to expect me between 10-11. The next day I get to the store at 10:15. The place is a old house that looks very sketchy and unkept. No one was at the store. How are you closed during operating hours? I called the store and left a VM. Waited and eventually I had to leave. I literally believed that it was a scam and called my bank to close credit card. Why? The manager told me that since it’s a 24 or less turnaround order that I need to pay upfront over the phone. Keep in mind I live on the other side of town and ordered the cake for an event. My morning is now consumed with flagging account for Fraud and trying to find a cake replacement. The manager/owner called me an hour later leaving a cold VM saying we’re here now. NO APOLOGY or since of remorse. Later I received another VM saying “ I am calling AGAIN, we have your cake.” Third VM was an offer to bring to cake to me if I call before they close in 30 mins. and a disingenuous sorry for being late followed up with an excuse. At this point I found another vendor and was no longer interested. Especially after seeing how nasty the shop looked in person. She called on Monday offering me this cake and I shared my grievance and asked for a refund. She refused to give me a refund and showed no remorse. I will NEVER support your janky business! You are WRONG and have no INTEGRITY! People please do not risk...
Read moreI had been looking for some sweets because I was going through Shelby and I pulled up Sweet Sensation website and saw well over 15 different pound cakes. I was so excited I didn’t know which one I was gonna choose but I knew that I was gonna get a slice of at least three. When I got there She only had lemon and this was the mid afternoon. She told me that she would give them to me for a cheaper price because they were cut small. But she gave them to me because they were old probably two days old, the icing on the cake and the cake look nothing like the pictures. . I’m sure it was good when it was fresh two or three days ago, but it was so hard in the middle and Around the edges of the cake except for the icing. I ended up throwing both of them away. I’m truly disappointed because we always want to say we are Black Business Owners but this is what you present to your black customers. Me being a black woman and a business owner, I know if I see a black owned business , I’m gonna automatically buy something, but she should never have sold these slices of cake like I said it was a waste of money. Read moreTook my son here for his birthday recently. Spent a little over $50. I was happy about the old school candies. My son brought a brownie, cheesecake and a bag of candy. I just brought a bag of mixed candies. The store had a bad smell when entering. It was strong and something we both noticed. The candies turned out to either be expired or have a bad/funny taste. All the candies taste like what the store smells like and the chewy candies were all hard. I thought that maybe if I wait to eat these candies, the smell would go away and the taste would improve. It's been about a week and still the same. I had my other children try to make sure. They ate a few pieces and either spit them out or declined to eat more. I have to throw these candies away.
