New Century Buffet — Restaurant in Shelbyville

Great place to eat! Honestly, probably the best Chinese food I have ever had. My family and I ate here a couple of weeks ago. I was questioning our decision as I walked up to the door to go in because the outside of the restaurant looks a little outdated and could use a sprucing up. When I walked in it was packed with people and looked clean so I thought that was a good sign. The food was all hot and fresh with a very wide variety. Everything was delicious. Usually I’m let down with something, but not here. The waitress was friendly and kept checking on us and kept our drinks filled. The prices were very reasonable especially compare to some of the other local Chinese restaurants who charge a lot for a very small buffet that isn’t that good. My youngest daughters who we had with us (7 and 8) said it was “so good”. My youngest said, “Mama, we don’t need to eat here very often because it is TOO GOOD”. She is tiny and normally doesn’t eat much, but I had to pull her plate away because she was getting too full but kept trying to eat more. Haha! I recommend this local gem! Can’t wait to...

Unfortunately our favorite local place closed so we now go to New Century. It's not the best but certainly not the worst. It's fine... there's nothing that really stands out. Well, there is a large selection of seafood items which I can appreciate. Service is fine, they clear dishes promptly, but like most Chinese places, they pack everyone into one area with the rest of the place empty. I don't want to be practically elbow to elbow with other patrons when there is plenty of room to spread us out a little. I hope this doesn't sound too negative, it's a perfectly fine place with a good buffet selection, comparable prices and adequate service...

Happy times with our Life Group at New Century Buffet. Extensive selection of Asian, American cuisine. Many, many choices of beef, chicken, pork, fish seafood or vegetable options. Salad and dessert bar are also available and even sushi for your enjoyment. Everything I tried was good and tasted fresh. A few weren't as hot as I would have liked, but overall it was good.

Waitresses accommodated our large group superbly and made sure to regularly refresh drinks and remove dishes as needed.

Price was 10.99 for adults on weekdays, slightly higher on weekends.
